Damon stepped into the home behind Kenny and shut the door. The ring glistened on Kenny's finger in the lights making Damon's lips turn upwards in a smile. His arms snaked their way around Kenny's waist and pulled him closer. Damon's leather jacket groaned in protest as he squeezed Kenny lightly. Neither said a word, even when Damon let Kenny go and slipped out of his jacket and put it on the table near the door.

Kenny leaned against the wall and shut his eyes. He could feel the ring on his finger and didn't quite know how to react to it being there. It all seemed so surreal, and it probably would be after Damon went back to work for Bobby tomorrow. He would probably barely see him again. A sigh escaped Kenny's lips, drawing Damon's attention back to him.

"What is it?" Damon asked softly, his shoes now kicked off and placed near the table.

Kenny's eyes jumped open and he forced a smile on his lips, "nothing. Just kind of tired is all."

Damon's eyebrows scrunched together as he stared at Kenny. "Why don't I believe you're just tired?"

Kenny shrugged, "you should probably go lay down. You do have work tomorrow after all.." His eyes fluttered back shut and he leaned his head back against the door frame.

"Is that why you're acting so strange?" Damon let his face relax and he walked over to Kenny, swiftly wrapping his arms around Kenny. "Because I have work tomorrow?"

Kenny sighed softly but let his body form to Damon, "you could say that.."

Damon rested his head atop Kenny's and slowly swayed with him in his arms. "I talked to Bobby about the hours, don't worry. He said he's going to cut it down as much as he can." A soft chuckle fell through the air, "I don't think he's used to me having someone to go home to."

Kenny sighed but melted into Damon's arms. "I guess."

"I love you." Damon's voice was soft. "I'll start coming home sooner from work. Promise."

"I'll wait for sooner..." Kenny muttered back before he patted Damon's chest. "Go lie down. I'll be there in a moment."

Damon snuck in a quick kiss before he made his way to the bedroom, already pulling off his shirt. Kenny moved to the windowsill and examined the ring in moon light. It shined like it was made by a million diamonds.

A shadow moved fast in the woods drawing Kenny's attention out the window. It was a human silhouette and it was very close to the house. Kenny raced, blood pumping fast through his veins, to all the doors making sure they were all locked before he finally convinced himself to go to bed with Damon. Maybe it had just been his mind playing tricks on him. One could hope.
