Damon laid on the car creeper and stared up at the underside of the 2012 Toyota Camry. Bobby worked on a car near the back and Adam worked on paperwork in the front of the shop. It was quiet for the shop, even with the rock music playing at a low volume to keep them at least a little entertained. Damon's left hand searched for his tools and when the metal hit his ring, he nearly jumped out of his skin. He still wasn't used to wearing the thing Kenny had made him put on his finger a day after he had proposed.

"To mark you as mine." Kenny had smiled up at him, his eyes squinted. His fingers slipped the ring onto Damon's finger, "Perfect."

Damon had smiled back and played with the ring on his finger automatically. "Thank you, baby."

A smile spread across his face at the memory and he pulled his mind back to fixing the car. A sound of a bell filled his ears, but he didn't pay much attention to it much. Adam began talking over the music and Damon finished up the car he was under, a simple oil change. He slipped out from under the car and began to wipe down his hands with his rag.

"Damon!" Adam's voice carried through the shop.

Damon walked to the front and hang his head around the corner. "What!?" Damon mocked the loudness of Adam's voice as he raised an eyebrow at him.

Adam frowned and just pointed a finger towards the front of the shop. "He asked to see you."

Damon moved so more than just his head was visible past the corner. The rag still wiping his hands clean. "Who's he? You get a name?"

"You could just look over." A voice said plainly behind Damon making him jump and Adam laugh under his breath.

Damon turned around and saw Kenny standing there. He couldn't hide the smile from his face, "well I could...But where's the fun in that?"

Kenny rolled his eyes and crossed his arms, "is it always this cold in here?"

Damon smiled softly and grabbed his leather jacket from the coat rack and swiftly putting it over his lovers shoulders. He watched Kenny cower into it's warmth before sliding his arms into the sleeves. "Why'd you stop by?" Damon's voice was soft.

"I just wanted to stop by and say hi.." Kenny said looking down.

"Can you give me just a minute to put the tools back from the job I just finished?" Damon asked softly, nearly a whisper, as he lifted Kenny's chin with his finger. "I can take a lunch break and we can hang out for thirty minutes."

"Yea." Kenny smiled hopefully. His eyes twinkled, "I'll wait."

"No worries" Kenny smiled, "I'll wait."

"You like saying that don't you?" Damon said and opened the squeaky door.

"I like saying it, yes." Kenny opened his own door, "it lets the person know I'm not going anywhere."

The memory flooded Damon's mind, throwing him off for a moment. "Alright." Damon nodded and quickly made his way to the back of the shop to pick up his mess.

The two went on like that for weeks, months even. Every day around twelve o'clock, Kenny would make his way into the shop and go out to lunch with Damon. They would spend the thirty minutes sitting outside the shop or going to the diner down the street. Anything to spend time with each other before Damon would come home at five-thirty. They were even both starting to get used to the ring on their finger. Everything was going perfect.
