Damon sat at the edge of the river where it came to a circular end and tossed the smaller rocks into the stream. Kenny was leaned against Damon, his head on his shoulder, and he was even starting to doze off. The two had watched the sun begin to set on the horizon, giving the trees a golden glow and the river twinkle with light. Sounds in the forest had even calmed down, leaving only the water and the 'plunk' of Damon's rocks hitting the water to fill the air.

"How long have we been out here?" Kenny asked softly, sleep running into his voice.

"Long." Damon said back, his deep voice carrying through the air. "Why? Do you want to head back?"

"Yea." Kenny yawned and hugged Damon loosely, "we should probably head back."

"Alright," Damon tossed the rest of the rocks left in his hand and patted Kenny's knee, "we'll head back."

Kenny pulled himself to his feet and dusted off the front of his jeans to rid the fabric of moss, grass, and dirt. His ears filled with the sound of Damon standing behind him as he blindly dusted at his pants doing his best to dust them off. The two made their way through the forest, Kenny lead blindly. The only guidance Kenny had was the occasional hip grab from Damon directing if he should go right or left. They were quiet as they walked; Until Damon's foot caught on a branch and he stumbled forward.

"S-Shit!" Damon panicked as his knees hit the ground with an unforgiving 'thud' before his shoulder collided with the ground.

"Babe!" Kenny spun around and raced to Damon's side, but before he could kneel down to help him out, Damon was already sitting up.

"I-I dropped something.." Damon searched the ground viciously.

Kenny rolled his eyes and leaned down and began to search with Damon for the thing he had dropped. "You're a mess.." He chuckled. Kenny's hand found a box that felt almost as soft as velvet. He swiftly pulled it into his view; It was a blue ring box that was covered in old velvet and looked over a decade old. Out of curiosity, Kenny propped it open and saw a ring neatly placed into the box. "What?" Kenny's voice was questioning as he looked up at Damon, "Why did you have this on you?"

"It..um...." Damon looked down, but his cheeks persisted on blushing. "It was my grandmother's ring box.." An awkward chuckle fell past Damon's lips, but he forced himself to continue, "It wasn't supposed to go like this....I was going to back at the river.." Damon blushed a little harder and ran his hand down his face. "It was going to be way more romantic than this I promise.." Another awkward chuckle escaped Damon's lips.

"W-What?" Kenny asked, not sure what to think. His eyes just stared at Damon searching for an answer. Searching for what he was trying to say.

"I...um..." Damon looked up, finding he was virtually nose to nose with Kenny. He gulped trying to get his words to form on his tongue. He shouldn't be this nervous. He chuckled softly to himself as his fear. "I was going to ask you if you would marry me."

It was Kenny's turn to blush as he gaped at Damon. His mouth didn't move to say anything. All Kenny could do was stare and replay Damon's words in his mind.

"Would you?" Damon almost cringed when he realized how needy his voice came out as. He didn't want to seem clingy.. Maybe he was being to pushy, too arrogant. "I swear you don't have to wear a dress." Damon laughed trying to add humor to the situation.

A small laugh left Kenny's lips and he forced his muscles to relax. "You're a nerd.."

Damon smiled back and swiftly grabbed the box from Kenny. "Stand up," Damon's voice was soft and he moved to be on one knee, "I wanna do this at least a little better."

Kenny chuckled but stood up. It was then Kenny noticed the stars had descended unto the sky and laid over it like a blanket. If he stood too far from Damon, he feared he would only be able to see his lovers silhouette.

"My dearest love. Will you do the honor of being my husband," Damon smiled foolishly and choked back his chuckles, "and be mine now and forever."

Kenny smiled back, quite foolishly himself. "I do?" Kenny more asked his answer. What was he supposed to say in a situation like this?

"Don't sound so sure." Damon laughed, his words were thick with sarcasm. Slowly, he stood and wrapped his arms around Kenny, pulling him close. "Here.." Damon muttered and slipped the ring onto Kenny's ring finger. "Perfect!" Damon smiled wide, exposing all of his front teeth and squinting his eyes.

"You're a dork." Kenny laughed and wrapped his arms around Damon and rested his head on his shoulder.

"Your dork." Damon said softly and ran a hand through Kenny's hair, "let's get back home before it gets too dark out here."
