My Maths Teacher: Mr Minter (COMPLETED)

Chapter 2

I slowly walked up to the maths classroom and saw lots of people standing outside. My heart began to beat fast again and the nerves kicked off. They all must be waiting for our teacher, I walked to the group of people and stood there feeling awkward.

"Hey, you new?" A heard a voice say next to me. I looked up and saw a guy with a beard smiling at me.
"Err, yeah I'm new" I said back nervously.
"I'm Josh, pleased to meet you" he said offering out his hand in front of me. I happily shock his hand and said "I'm Olivia, nice to meet you too".

"So you excited for your first lesson?" Josh asked me as he smiled down at me. "No, I hate maths" I said as the smiled left my face.

"Oh come on, it's not that bad" Josh told me. "Why are we standing out here anyway?" I asked. "We're waiting for our maths teacher, he's always late to lessons, another teacher normally comes along and opens the door for us, so we can take our seats and wait" Josh explained to me.
"Wanna come and meet my friends while we wait?" Josh asked me.
"Sure, why not" I said nervously, as I was about to meet new people.

"Hey guys, this is Olivia. She's new to this school" Josh said to all of his friends. "Hey" they all said back to me.
"Olivia, this is JJ, Harry, Vikk, Tobi and Ethan" Josh said as he pointed to each person in the group.
"Hey guys" I said as I smiled to the group.

Soon enough the nerves began to fade and I soon found myself smiling, could I be making friends on the first day.

Just then a teacher came over to us and opened the classroom door for us. "Your teacher will be here shortly, he just had to go to a meeting. Go inside and sit down in your seats and wait quietly" the teacher said as he opened the door for us.

We all piled into the classroom and everyone went to sit with their friends. I stood at the front scanning the room for a spare seat, just then Josh waved over at me, signalling for me to come and sit next to him. He made sure there was a spare seat for me, aww he's so sweet. I walked over and sat next to him, I put my bag on the floor and rummaged around for my notebook and pen in my bag.

I then heard someone enter the classroom, I wasn't paying attention as I was trying to find my pen. Then when I looked up, I saw the most beautiful thing I've ever laid my eyes upon. He was standing at the front of the class, looking at us. His eyes then locked with mine and he smiled at me, my heart began to beat fast again.

"Hello, you must the new girl. I'm your maths teacher, Mr Minter" he said. My heart began to beat faster, I didn't know what to do. Should I reply?
"What's your name?" Mr Minter asked me.
"I, I, I'm Olivia" I said, my voice sounding shakey.

Mr Minter was the most attractive guy I've ever seen. He's got blonde/brownish coloured hair, which sticks up from hair gel. He has shiny blue eyes which I could just fall into. His smile is warm and makes my heart melt. He's wearing a white button up shirt, with black trousers, accompanied with black tie and black smart shoes.

I stare at him and watch as he begins the lesson, my eyes never turn away from his face.
"Olivia, you ok?" Josh asks, snapping me out of my trance.
"Huh, what did you say?" I ask Josh.
"I asked if you're ok, you were daydreaming" he whispered to me, so we didn't get into trouble for talking.
"Oh, yeah I was. Remember what I said, I hate maths so I'll do anything to distract myself" I whispered back to Josh. It seems like I have my perfect distraction, right in front of me.

Mr Minter set us some math problems to get on with, while he got on with some work of his own. I looked down at my sheet of paper, I had no idea what I was doing, Josh was getting on with his work so I didn't want to distract him. Then I had a great idea, I'll ask Mr Minter to help me. I mean he is the teacher, it's practically his job to help his students.

I raised my hand and saw him look up at me and smile. I smiled back and watched as he came over to my desk.
"Yes Olivia, what can I help you with?" He asked me, as his arms rested against the desk. I could smell his cologne slowly travel its way to my nose. I exhaled the sweet smell and damn, did it smell good. I then realised that I didn't answer his question, as he waited patiently for me to answer.

"Oh, yeah I'm stuck on this question" I said as pointed to the question.
"I see, let me help you" he said as he continued to smile at me. My god, he is so hot. That's all I could think about, I hardly paid attention to what he was saying, I was just gazing into his eyes the entire time.

"And that's how you solve it, get it now?" Mr Minter asked me. He waited for my reply, I couldn't tell him no, he would probably get angry at me. So I told him that I understood the question, which was probably a stupid thing to do, as I still have no clue how to answer it. He then walked back over to his desk and continued his work.

"You still don't get it do you?" I heard a voice say. I turned around to see Tobi laughing at me.
"It's difficult" I said back, trying to sound innocent. "It's really not that hard, you just didn't pay attention" Tobi continued to laugh at me.
"That's not true, I just find maths hard. It's not my fault" I tried to sound sad but it clearly wasn't working.
"I'll help you" Tobi said, as he offered me his work for me to copy. He also taught me how to work out each question, so I didn't get stuck again.
"Thank you" I said to Tobi smiling. He smiled back and continued with his work.

The bell rang 20 minutes later, I had just finished my work on time. "Come on, we have English next. What teacher do you have Olivia?" Josh asked me. I looked at my timetable and read "miss Harvey". "I have her too, you'll be in my class. Come on we'll go together" Josh said smiling at me.

I grabbed my stuff quickly and got up out of my chair, I was the last student to leave the room so hurried to get out. Just as I was about to walk out of the room, I tripped over the table leg and my stuff went flying. I fell onto the floor and tried to pull myself up. Just then I saw a hand being presented in front of me, it was Mr Minter.

"Are you ok?" He asked me. He pulled me up off of the floor and bent down again to pick up my stuff.
"I'm fine, thank you" I replied, feeling embarrassment rush through me. Mr Minter handed me my stuff and smiled his warm smile at me.
"Glad you're ok, you better get going now. Don't wanna be late" he said still smiling at me. I thanked him again and walked out of the classroom. I can't believe what just happened, I fell over in front of him. I feel like such an idiot, but he helped me. Just then I began to smile to myself, as I pictured the way he looked at me when he helped me off of the floor.

You know, as much as I hate maths, I could learn to love it. I was even looking forward to my next lesson with.. Mr Minter.
