That evening Simon decided to cook dinner, ready for when my mum came home. I could see him cooking in the kitchen, so I slowly creeped up behind him and hugged him from behind.
"Hey" I said. "Oh hey, you scared me" Simon said as he turned around to face me. I then hugged him tighter, "sorry" I said smiling.

Simon was making his favourite dish, lasagne. I can't wait for my mum to try it, it takes so good! It will always remind me of the day when I went to his house, that'll be a day I'll never forget.
"My mum is gonna love this, she's always so stressed from work, so for her to come home to a home cooked meal will make her very happy" I explained to Simon.

"Well I aim to please and I hope she likes it" Simon added as continued cooking.

*15 minutes later*
Simon was finishing up the food, while I watched. I don't really cool so I mostly observe. Then we heard the front door open as my mum walked inside. I heard her sigh to herself and I could tell she was stressed, I really hope this makes her feel better. I walked out of the kitchen and went towards my mum was taking off her coat.

"Mum hey, how was work?" I asked with a smile. She didn't return the smile back as she looked me "so much work, I'm exhausted" she said.
"Don't worry mum, we have a surprise for you. Come into the dining room and take a seat" I said as I guided her towards the table. She gave me a confused look as she followed me.

I sat her down at the table while she waited for something to happen. "What's the surprise" she asked me, still looking confused.
Simon then walked in with a plate of food and presented it in front of my mum.
"Ta-dah, a home cooked meal just for you mum" I said as I saw her expression change, her face lightened up and her smile grew wider.

"Aww you did this for me?" She asked Simon. "Yes, it was Olivia's idea. She thought it would be a nice surprise for you" he added. "This is so sweet of you both, thank you" she said as she began to eat.
"This is delicious, wow I've never tasted lasagne like this before" she said as she took more bites. I looked over at Simon and smiled at him, he returned the smile and we both watched as my mum devoured her food.

Simon then got a plate for me and him and we joined her at the table. We were talking for a bit until my mum said "let's see what's on TV" she then grabbed the remote and turned it on.

The news came on and everything went quiet as we watched the newsreader give us information.
Then suddenly 'breaking news!' Popped up into the screen and the woman began to speak. "We have some breaking news, a man is wanted by police for having a relationship with his student..."

My eyes quickly shot over to Simon and he did the same, we both looked at each other in shock and I began to panic. I quickly grabbed the remote and changed the channel before the woman could finish the story.
"Olivia, what are you doing? Turn it back I was watching that" my mum said as she held her hand out to me.

"But mum I wanna watch this" I said back. "You can watch it after, now turn it back" my mum said again, but this time sounding more frustrated. Then she grabbed the remote from my hand and turned it back to the news.

"Simon Minter 23,who is a maths teacher at Pinewood high school, was caught having a relationship with one of his students, Olivia White aged 18" I looked over at my mum, she had a shocked expression on my face. She didn't say a word or look over at us once, she continued to watch the news.

"The police was called to the scene after Simon and Olivia ran from school premises. Although the girl isn't underage, he is still facing a criminal charge for having a relationship with his fellow student. The police are asking for anyone to come forward, if they know the whereabouts of Simon." The newsreader finished her story and went on to talk about something else.

Then the TV was switched off, there was a dead silence. "Olivia, you are a stupid girl! What the hell is wrong with you?" My mum burst out in a flood of anger. Her face went red and I could hear the rage in her voice.
"Mum please you have to understand" I tried to explain. "Understand? That my daughter is having a relationship with her teacher and who happens to be 5 years older than you!" She shouted.

"And you! I trusted you and all this time you've been lying to me. I now have a criminal in my house" she raised her voice at Simon. "Mum please you have to listen" I said trying to calm her down. "No there's nothing to say, the police are looking all over for him. I'm not having that in my house. Olivia how could you be so stupid?" Her voice sounding angry and serious.

"I fell in love mum, I can't help that" I said to my mum in a cold tone. She scoffed "love? You think this is love?"

"Yeah I do, we love each other" I continued. "Well it won't be lasting much longer when the police catch up to you" she said as she stood up from her chair. "No please, you can't tell the police" I begged. "Oh I'm not, but eventually they'll find you. You can't hide forever. Wait.. That's it, that's why you're here. You've been hiding from the police."

"We had no choice" I said to my mum. "How about dealing with the consequences?" She asked us. "I was scared" Simon said.
"That's you're own fault, if you didn't go around preying on younger girls then you wouldn't be in this mess" my mum added.

"Mum!" I shouted. "Don't say that, I was the one who kissed him first" I said, trying to get her to back away from Simon. "Well he should've stopped it, he's the teacher, he's meant to be the sensible one" she said.
"I can't even look at you for another second, Simon get out of my house" my mum said as she pointed to the door.

"You can't just throw him out" I shouted. "Watch me" my mum said, sounding angry again. She then grabbed Simons arm and pulled him towards the door, opened it and pushed him out. I ran after him but my mum blocked the door so I couldn't leave.
"Simon!" I shouted and I could hear him shout back.

"Don't bother, you're not following him. Go upstairs to your room" she said as she pointed upstairs. She's treating me like I'm 5, she needs to understand what really happened. She probably thinks he's some pervert but he's not. I walked upstairs to my room and looked outside my window. I saw Simon walking off but suddenly stopped to turn around. He looked at me and I could see he was terrified, as tears began to fall down my face. I placed my hand on the glass and he gave me a small wave before walking off into the distance.

He's probably going to go home, even though that's the most obvious place to look for him. Luckily, we both had our phones so we can keep in contact and work out what to do next. I stared through my window, as the sun began to set. The sky looks so peaceful, I wish things could feel like that for us. Instead we're entering a world of darkness, with no light to show us the way. We're trapped, lost and scared.

Sorry for not updating in a while, I've had lots of assignments to do this week. I've decided to make this a longer chapter to make up for it. Thank you for over 800 reads!
I hope you all have a great day :)
