Chapter 2. Z-day: Part two.

We both burst into the class, Takashi's head on a swivel, looking for Rei and Hisashi. "Mr.McAuliffe.Do you mind not interrupting me in the middle of my lesson?" Mr.Koichi said, adjusting his glasses. "Shut the hell up, you ass." I replied, stalking slowly up to him. Mr.Koichi paled, spluttering as he backed up from my approach. "Y-you can't talk to me like that! I'm a teacher! A authority figure!" I grabbed his suit lapels and lifted him up against the board. I leaned in close, my vision blurry from the anger I felt for this slimy excuse for a human. "I know what you did, you ass. Don't think I have any regrets doing something to you." Mr.Koichi seemed to grow paler than the chalk he used on his board. As I set him down, I heard a loud SLAP! I turned around to see Rei holding her cheek, eyes watering. "Takashi! What the freak!?" I pushed between the desks, reaching the three as I heard Hisashi say," if your right, we gotta go." I slid past them to check on Rei. "Hey... Rei... Takashi didn't mean that. We just gotta go. You gotta believe me." I said softly. Rei looked up at me with teary eyes, then slowly nodded. I rushed to the door and opened it for them. Giving Koichi one last glare, we rushed out, Hisashi taking the lead. After a couple of minutes, we stopped at closet. Hisashi opened it and started rummaging through the mess. "What are you doing?" Takashi asked, keeping watch. "If your right, we're gonna need weapons." Hisashi replied, snapping a broom handle and handing it to Rei. He then tossed Takashi a baseball bat and looked at me. "No way. You know I don't like weapons that much. Especially after.... you know..." Hisashi nodded. Rei looked at Takashi and asked,"Can I use your phone? We should call the police." Takashi nodded and handed her his phone. "School rules are meant to be broken, right?" I cringed, thinking how it wasn't the right time to make wisecracks. Before she could dial, the P.A. system went off. "We are are under a state of emergency. A serious threat is inside the school please evacuate as soon as-" the system cut out. "Oh god. We gotta go now!" I started to move down the hall to the outside door when the system came back. " Please. Run! No. No,stay back! No!" The school was then filled with the screaming of our principal. The school went quiet. That's when the screaming really started. I grabbed Takashi by his collar, hollered," RUN TO THE BREEZEWAY!",and took off. I made it to the door and opened it just as I saw the first students stampeding down the stairs. I pushed my friends through the door and slammed it shut, hoping that no one would follow us out.
