This day was just pre production a lot of flipping on wires. Then the crew showed me the set list when I was on stage holding Veronica and singing Breathe no more.

"Please tell me this is a joke Royce!"

"It's not. Look we can do a trial run later today and see how it goes. If it goes bad then I'll cut it from the setlist ok?"

"Fine let's do it now. Matt can you take Veronica?"

He took Veronica backstage and I walked to where the tiny piano was and sat down. All I could think of is my dead mother.
"It's alright just take your time."

I played the first verse for the song and my mind was just filled with death and craziness. I just snapped and broke down into tears alone.
"Ok you're so not ready."

"Well what did you think Royce? That I was going to push everything aside and play it without any problems?! My mother just died it's not a fucking joke!"

I got up and walked out of the arena then I started running towards the bus in tears. Maybe I'm just not ready. I'm never ready.
