Josh's POV

The next day I went to the studio with Matt leaving Amy with Veronica. When I got there the rest of the guys were there.

"Josh I know you didn't want the rest of the guys to know but they want to help you recover and somehow sing again."

I slapped him then hugged him just out of confusion.

"Now lets try Understanding alright? Lets see how far you can go without your voice giving out."

"Alright."

I sat down at the piano playing the melody to understanding.

"The fear that grips you releases life in me...crap I can't remember the words."

"That's alright just do one of our songs."

I transitioned into Forget Me Not since I can play it finally. I got through the first verse and into the chorus then for the first time the second verse still head strong. This must means its healing right? Probably.

"Maybe life's too short but the end is long....yeah life's too short and the end is long."

Finally for the first time I finished a song and the guys just cheered.

"You did it Josh you can sing it healed."

"It's about fucking time!"

After that we practiced more of our songs and my voice never gave out. Its amazing to be able to finally sing again. It feels like I never got pierced in the throat in the first place.

"You'd think I would be able sing live?"

"Yeah just take breaks every so often. You'll be fine Josh."

"Thank you Matt for everything..."

I hugged Matt tight afraid that I might loose him one day. He's my best friend I will do anything for him.

"So how are you and Amy?"

"Alright she's kinda pissed that I was involved with Lights."

"So kinda a rough night?"

"Yeah I don't know what to say to Lights she messaged me last night."

"I'll take the date then Josh no worries."

"Really? Oh fine."

He offered to drive me back home just incase I had PTSD from the crash but I don't. So I drove home in one piece for once and walked inside to see Amy playing with Veronica.

"I see that my two favourite ladies are having fun. Hey sweet pea."

"Yup we went to the park and almost fell asleep in the swing yeah our day was great."

"Oh really well guess who has their voice back. This guy!"

I picked Veronica up and tossed her in the air catching her. She's been growing so fast now it's like her life is speeding by so fast.

"That's amazing! I'm proud of you Josh you've managed to crawl out of the dark alive."

"I guess if you want to say that then yeah I uh guess so?"

I just laughed cause she's right I'm out of the darkness out of that rock bottom place.

"Oh yeah I have a tour in a couple days so I'm going to be gone for a couple weeks..."

"Josh...it's just like I got you back and now you're leaving again maybe I should go with you."

"No you stay here. Don't move. Wait for me Amy."

I kissed her cheek and walked out the door to the bus just wanting to practice even more.
