"I'm actually a little nervous." Kelley said to her wife, as they walked towards the entrance of the airport. "Yeah, I haven't talked to some of these women for years, and they used to be our best friends." Hope agreed, placing her arm around the younger retired soccer player.

"Hope!" A familiar voice to the both of them could be heard from behind, and they turned around excited. "Carli freaking Lloyd, it's been too long." Hope dropped her bag to the floor and opened her arms for the other woman. Carli gladly accepted the warm welcome and hugged her former teammate back.
"It's just a little crush, my ass, Solo. You fucking married her." Carli now pulled away, smiling at Kelley. Hope laughed at her snarky comment, feeling how much she's missed her former teammate. The two used to be best friends, but as they both retired and life happened, they fell out of touch. Hope and Kelley had wanted a small wedding, just a couple people a random afternoon, so no old friends were really invited. Though when Hope got to think about it, it's a shame Carli wasn't at her wedding, she should've been.

"You started the reunion without me?" Tobin was suddenly running excited towards where the three stood, her wife and Cheney close behind. "Toby!" Kelley yelled, and opened her arms as Tobin jumped in them. Alex and Cheney caught up to them, ending up in a group hug which Hope and Carli also joined.
"Where's the Morgan-Heath offspring at?" Kelley looked at her two best friends, wondering where their 3-year-old daughter were hiding out.
"She's at home with Jeri." Tobin answered, looking like she clearly already missed her daughter. "As long as I'm still her favorite aunt." Kelley joked, everyone laughing and enjoying each other's company again.

The group of now six soccer legends made their way into a cab and found the hotel they were staying at. Everyone met up and the atmosphere were delightful. Most of these women haven't seen each other for years, and a trip down the memory lane was in order.

"Christen! God, it's been forever!" Tobin hugged Christen tight as they all entered the lobby. Most of the women were there by now.
"Tobin, hi. It's been too long." Christen answered, pulling away from the hug. "Where's your girlfriend at?" Tobin asked, looking around the room for Julie.
"You mean, fiancé?" Christen said proud, waving her hand with a flashing ring on it in front of the girls. "She's here somewhere." She added, as everyone gasped.
"Press, omg." Kelley shot in, jumping over to hug her friend. "I'm so happy for you guys." Tobin continued, a group hug now forming.
"I'm guessing you told them?" Julie appeared from behind, causing a disruption of the hug. Everyone turned to look at the blond with huge grins on their faces.
"JJ, you sneaky little, congrats." Kelley laughed, hugging Julie. "I'm honestly just surprised it took you this long to pop the question." Hope smiled, giving the girl a tight hug too.
"Cause you're one to talk, Solo." Carli shot in, earning a playful glare back from Hope.

"I told you to pack lighter, Kriegs. You haven't been retired for that long, did you forget how to travel?" Ashlyn laughed, as her and Ali entered through the hotel doors. Ali had packed a way too big suitcase, dragging it after her through the door. "Have you forgotten my motto? Look good, feel good, play good. And that takes a little more than it used to." Ali joked, now getting help from her wife to carry the bag. "You always look good." Ashlyn smiled, now turning to gave the others after several people started yelling.
"Stop with the cuteness, it hasn't even been a minute." Kling whined, joking as she smiled to the couple. "You're just jealous cause Moe's still assuming she's straight." Ashlyn joked back, getting a laugh back from several people. "Damn, it's like nothing changed." Morgan shot in, now standing next to Meghan shaking her head. "I missed you guys." She added.

"Thank you all for taking time out of your everyday lives to come back here for this very special occasion." Jill was speaking in front of everyone in the dining hall, bringing back memories for everyone.
"I have spent many years training the national team, but I gotta say, the 15'ers will always be special to me. It's rare to have a team with this many incredible players, and whenever one comes off, it's never anything less coming on. We won the World Cup as a team, and every single one of you deserved that gold medal." Jill continued on, making everyone in the room emotional. "Now I'll stop before I start crying. I just wanted to say thank you for being such a great group of people, and thank you for making my job as your coach back then such an easy and incredible task." Jill ended, getting a standing ovation from the players.

"Remember that time Hope and Kelley forgot the cameras at that one friendly against Sweden and was totally caught being all PDA." Ashlyn let out a laugh, telling the table about one of her fun memories with this group. "That was so not my fault." Kelley quickly spoke up, staring at Hope who was sitting next to her.
"And you guys got caught all the freaking time, the world just held on to 'gal pals' too hard." Hope continued, looking back at Ashlyn.
Everyone laughed at the comment.
They all agreed how oblivious the media actually was to all their relationships, and how thankful they were for it. It was all about the soccer, which is how it should be.
