"Are you sure this isn't like, a little over her top?" Tobin asked Hope, looking a little skeptical towards the thousands of rose petals spread out on the floor. Hope shook her head in disagreement, as she kept going.
"No, of course not. You want this to be special, right?" Hope asked back, stopping slightly in her tracks to look at her nervous friends.
Tobin sighed, trying to stop overthinking everything so deeply. No one was forcing her to do this, she's doing it out of free will. She's doing it because she loves Christen and wants to spend the rest of her life with her long-time girlfriend.
"You're right. All or nothing, right?" Tobin said back, trying her best to sound confident.

The two women organized the whole evening with candles and flowers and everything according to the book. Tobin hadn't initially planned for it to be this over the top, but when she asked Hope for help she had been thrilled about it. Probably because she never got to do the fancy proposal to Kelley, seeing as it had been more blurted out one evening a couple a years ago. Hope didn't regret how she did it, it was perfect for them, but now that she had the chance to help out with a fairytale proposal, of course she would.

'We are on our way' Hope read Kelley's text out loud, sounding almost more stressed than Tobin at this point. Tobin sighed, trying to keep it together so she could pull this off.
"Hope, I need you to calm down. You're stressing me out." Tobin spoke as she closed her eyes, trying to block it out.
"Sorry." Hope mumbled back, her face slowly cracking a smile. Tobin noticed and couldn't help but smile back, even though she was both nervous and slightly annoyed with the retired goalkeeper at that moment.
"Don't forget to enjoy this, okay?" Hope calmed down, looking at Tobin with a comforting more smile now.
"This is the first and last time you'll do this." She continued, then letting out a short laugh.
"Hopefully, I mean." She added, knowing that she for sure thought this would be the last time for Tobin. Hope knew the couple was great together, and that if life didn't get it in the way somehow, the two would make it and have their happy ending.
"Hopefully, yeah." Tobin said jokingly back, while she too was being confident in this being the last time. Still, even though she was feeling confident in getting a 'yes', it didn't keep her form being anxious about the whole situation.

"Damn, what am I doing, Hope?" Tobin suddenly spoke up, feeling the realization of the situation. She was actually about to freaking propose to her girlfriend, and even though this was something they had talked about at several occasions lately, she was sure it would still come as somewhat of a shock to Christen. Just the fact that she's actually going to do it, committing to the girl of her dreams for a lifetime.
"I know. It's scary as heck. But it's also fucking amazing once you do." Hope smiled, putting a comforting hand on Tobin's shoulder. She was amused by how nervous the younger girl looked, getting a feeling of nostalgia towards the good old days when she was still newly engaged and newlywed with her own wife. It wasn't as much that she misses it, because the present was everything she dreamed of, more that it was a time that she knew she would ever have back. Not that she wanted to, because that would mean having to get married again and she wasn't planning on divorcing anyone in this lifetime.

"Hello?" A familiar voice broke their moment, and they both stared at each other in shock and confusion. This was it.
"Showtime." Hope said, easing up a little after she saw how Tobin terrified looked. "You'll do great." She continued, giving one last comforting pat on the back of her friend before she walked towards the front door.
"And Tobin? She's a lucky girl." Hope added, seeing a smile spread on the other girls face.

"My ladies." Hope addressed the two women standing in the doorway as she reached them, and they both smiled slightly skeptical.
"What's going on?" Christen asked, looking between the married couple. Kelley tried her best to hide her excitement, but she had been on the mission for hours now and it was starting to get really hard once she saw her own wife and the decorations in the house.
"Thanks guys, that'd be all." Tobin appeared in the door behind Hope, and referred to Kelley and Hope as they didn't seem too eager to leave. The two caught on shortly.
"Hi, babe." Tobin added, now looking at her hopefully soon-to-be fiancé. The sight of Christen made Tobin calm down instantly, and she felt nothing but excitement and happiness.

"Press is gonna kill me once she figured out I've lied to her all day." Kelley laughed lightly, as her and Hope had had left the two alone.
"I think she'll understand." Hope said sarcastic back, smiling as she looked at Kelley. Hope reached out and took the hand of the younger woman in her own, taking it into both of hers and holding on tight.
"It's strange thinking back, don't you think?" Hope continued, looking out into nothing specific. It was a warm evening and the couple enjoyed the walk in the quiet backstreets. Kelley leaned closer to her wife.
"To the good ol' days?" Kelley referred to an old Twenty One Pilot song, earning an eye roll from Hope in return. Kelley laughed shortly at the response, before continuing.
"It is. But honestly I'm perfectly happy with having that out of the way. Imagine planning a another wedding. That actually might've been the end for me." Kelley joked, shaking her head at the thought of it.
"So you're saying you won't divorce me because it's stressful to plan a second wedding?" Hope joked back, still having a smile on her face.
"That's exactly what I'm saying." Kelley said sarcastically back, while Hope pretended to be offended for a brief second.

"You know, I worried for a while about when the spark was gonna fade, that newlywed and in love feeling." Hope started, as they continued their walk hand in hand.
"But only until I realized that it won't ever. I'm just as in love with you now as I was when I said 'I do', as well as when I fist met you." Hope looked down at the shorter girl, loving the warm smile she received from her wife.
"I'm so thankful for that." She ended, and just as she finished the words, Kelley stopped her with her hand and pulled the older woman closer to her. Without hesitation, Kelley closed the gap between them and let her lips tell Hope what she felt without the use of words.

"This has been amazing, Tobin. Thank you." Christen didn't know what to say to all this, Tobin had really gone all aboard for this date for some reason. She was in awe of her girlfriend for doing all of this for her.
"I know it seems a lot, but I wanted this evening to be memorable." Tobin started, feeling her heart rate raise rapidly by the second. This was it. She hadn't been nervous up until now, she had been enjoying herself, but now it like she had just ran a marathon and was all of a sudden out of breath.

"Christen, I- there's something I want you to know. I think the world knew something before we caught on to it, creating this whole fictional relationship between us. At first I remember thinking it was crazy, but then I realized what they all saw in us, how we made each other better and that's when I thought 'you know, maybe they're on to something'.
Ever since I met you, I've known that I want to spend the rest of my life knowing you in some way. I couldn't pinpoint it at first, mistook it for 'friends' for a little while, but obviously you're so much more than that to me. Yes, you're my best friend, but I swear to god if one more person calls us 'Gal Pals' I swear I'll-
Never mind, beside the point. From the moment that we gave it a go, not only did my carrier take off, but I became the best version of myself. You make me a better person, and together I feel like there is nothing we can't accomplish or do. You're the love of my life, my soulmate and I want to spend this lifetime reminding you of that. If you'll let me.
Christen Annemarie Press, will you marry me?"  Tobin took a deep breath, as she was now bending down on one knee as she spoke the last four words she'd be dreaming of.

Christen had never been more happy than in that moment, when she was looking at the love of her life holding up a ring.
"Of course, yes." She breathed out, as she nodded rapidly. Christen didn't know what to say or do, she was just overly happy.
Tobin cracked a relieved smile, and before she could do anything else, was pulled up by her fiancé for a kiss. "A million times yes." Christen mumbled into Tobin's lips, not being able to stop crying.
She eventually let Tobin put the shining ring on her finger, not nearly believing her eyes.

The couple knew this was their beginning of forever, and couldn't wait to get started.
