Harry POV

The next morning, I went to see her before she left. Fred was already there, as I expected. He looked like he hasn't slept a wink since the night before, but then again, neither did I. She looked terrible, her face was black and blue all along her jaw, here eyes closed in a peaceful way that was eerie, her face bright red. She was mostly hidden under the blanket, which I was thankful for, I didn't need to see the rest of her injures. Fred was holding her hand, or finger tips. Madam Promfrey had put the hand in a thick cast, only her finger tips could poke out.

"Even though she is so beat up, I still think she is beautiful," Fred said, staring at Lil's warn down face. It was true, my sister was really gorgeous. Fred and I have that in common, our sisters where beautiful, I thought. Wait, where did that come from?

"I'm glad she has you," I said, pulling up a chair to sit next to him. Lily had blood in her brown-red tinted hair, making some parts more fire-y.

"Sorry boys, you will need to say goodbye, she's off to St. Mungos," said Tonks, coming in the room. Snape was there too, coming up from behind her. Madam Pomfrey came out of her office. I couldn't believe that Snape was the one that saved my sister. He was working for the guy who did this. I bet Voldemort wasn't pleased with his involvement in saving Lily.

"Can't I come with her?" Fred basically pleaded. I understood where he was coming from. Parting with Lily right now made me feel sick, and I was just her brother. What if my noneistant girl friend was in this position?

"You can visit her tomorrow, but I think St. Mungos has quite a day planned for her," Tonks admitted.

I got up and bent over Lily and kissed her red forehead. "I'll see you later, get well soon."

..

By breakfast, the news of Lily being cursed was spread around the whole school. They soon found out that she had been moved, and the group around the Hospital Wing dispersed. The details were confused and nobody other than Ron, Hermione, Leanne and I seemed to know that Lily hadn't been the actual target. After Tonk's visiting us, we had to conclude that Lily was just an accident and Katie was just confused when she handed her the package. Malfoy was after someone else.

I went to Dumbledore's lesson on Monday, not knowing if he would actually be there. Dumbledore was in fact there, sitting behind his desk looking unusually tired and reading a letter on his desk. His hand was black and burned as ever. When he saw me, he smiled and tucked the letter in his desk and gestured for me to sit down.

"You have had a busy time while I was away," Dumbldore said. "I believe you witnessed Lily's accident."

"Yes, sir. How is she?"

"Still very unwell, although she is very lucky. The instant the necklace touched her she dropped it, ending the contact. To bad she wasn't wearing her gloves... If she had held it in her hand or even put it on, she would be dead, instantly. I'm sure you know that Professor Snape was able to do enough to prevent the rapid spread of the curse to her hand?"

"Yes," I said, looking at Dumbledore's burnt hand. Would Lily's look like that?

"Anyway, St. Mungo's staff are sending me hourly reports, it looks like she will make a full recovery by January," Dumbledore informed me.

"Where were you this weekend, sir?" I asked, disregarding the strong feeling that I may be pushing my luck.

"I would rather not say just now, " said Dumbledore. "However, I shall tell you in due course."
