Hermione, Ron and Harry left to go visit Hagrid. I had stayed behind so I could get some home work done and hangout with Fred and George. But of course, when ever I plan to do homework in the presence of the Weasley Twins, it never gets done.
....
"You got detention?!" asked Hermione the next morning, shaking me awake. I moaned and sat up.
"What?"
"You got a detention?!" Hermione repeated. I looked down at my clothes, I was wearing my 'Property of Gryffindor Quidditch' sweat shirt and some leggings. Good enough, I thought, jumping out of bed.
"Yes," I said, pulling on some slippers.
"Why on earth did you pull a prank, again?" Hermione asked me astonished. "It seems completely out of your character."
"I don't know, I was bored, seemed like fun," I sighed, pulling my messy hair into a low ponytail. Why are they called pony tails? I thought.
"You thought that setting off dung bombs outside of Filches office would be fun?" Hermione repeated. I sat down next to my little mirror and pulled out the little makeup I had and started to apply it.
"Well, I think it would have been more fun if her were actually in the office and not waiting 'round the corner for us," I said casually.
"Lily," Hermione started. "You can't get another detention."
"And why is that?" I asked for her reasoning. She was taken back my my question.
"Well, because it's not appropriate. This is our fifth year, we have to be studying as much as we can before our examinations. Teachers give us enough homework without you being gone all night scrubbing the bathroom with a tooth brush!"
"I did that once," I said, shrugging. "I was actually quite efficient, now that I think about it. I could get those small spaces--"
"Why do you keep hanging out with the Twins anyway?" asked Hermione, sitting next to me and watching me do my makeup.
"Well, because they are fun and make me laugh," I said simply. It was something about them that just always put me in a good mood.
Hermione remained quiet for a moment.
"They aren't good influences," she muttered. "I wonder-- hey!"
She startled me so much that I flinched and poked my eye with my mascara wand.
"Hermione!" I winced in pain. "I'm painting my face on!"
"Sorry, I just had a thought, a realization if you will," said Hermione, giving me a sly smile.
I blinked multiple times, trying to rid my eye of the burning sensation. "Dang, I think I poke my eye out of the socket!"
"Do you fancy one of the twins?" asked Hermione curiously.
"What?" I asked, looking at the damage the mascara did to my eye make up. My eye was as red as my sweat shirt.
"Come on, you heard me," said Hermione.
"What gave you that idea that I like one of the twins?" I said, not meeting her eyes. "Ridiculous."
"You just hang about them a lot," said Hermione. "I guess I was wrong..."
"Good, " I said, getting up. "I am selling products with the twins again, got to go!"
"The twins, huh?" asked Hermione with a tone that told me it wasn't a question.
"Yes," I sighed. "With the twins, that I have no romantic feelings for!"
