I woke up for the first day of school with a very excited feeling. I had that nervous feeling throughout my body. I gave Riley her food, much to her delight. I sorted through my clothes, trying to decide what robes to wear. Realizing they were all the same, I just pulled on the closest one to me. I started to put on some makeup. I was never able to have makeup at the orphanage but I was recently able to try it out. I put on some mascara on and covered some of my blemishes.

Next, i got my wand out and started charming my hair to be less crazy. I had gotten this 'Witches Guide to perfection' but the spells had very little impact on my crazy hair. Oh well, you can' tame the beast.

Soon the other girls in the dorm woke up, Lavender first.

When Lavender saw me, she broke into a conversation that started out with her asking what I liked and then her telling me her life story. The conversation went like this:

Lavender: Oh, hi Lily! I'm Lavender.

Me: Hi.

Lavender: So are you starting school in the fifth year classes?

Me: Yes, but—-

Lavender: Wonderful! You and Harry are pretty close?

Me: Yes, but—-

Lavender: That's great! I think twins are fascinating. Can a pair of magical twins communicate silently?

Me: Never tried it---

Lavender: That's so cool! I hope I get all classes with my crush, that would be amazing! He is sooooo cute some times....

Lavender continued about her life, I nodded every once in a while. Slowly, Pavarti got up. Hermione was still in her bed, the curtains closed.

When Lavender went to go write to her parents, I went to wake Hermione up.

I pulled back the curtains to see Hermione fully clothed, and reading the book for Defense Against the Dark Arts class.

"Hermione, what the heck are you doing up?" I asked her.

"Yeah, just one more chapter," she said, not taking her eyes of the book. I rolled my eyes.

"Well I'm starving, can we please go to breakfast," I asked her.

"Oh, alright," Hermione reluctantly put down the book. "We always get books for Defense Against the Dark Arts but never finish them all the way in class because we are too busy learning the spells to defend ourselves."

"What fun would be a class with only reading about the subject and not practicing the subject?" I asked, smirking in my mind.

"It wouldn't be to bad, I think. Fun actually," Hermione said in wonder.

"I hope you didn't jinx it," I laughed.

"Oh, don't get me started on Divination, I dropped that class because of the teacher! She was horrible! What extra classes did you decide on?" Hermione asked.

"Oh, I'm taking 3 extra classes instead of 2! Muggle Studies, Ancient Ruins, and Care of Magical Creatures. I wanted to take Arithmacy and Divination but I wasn't able to get," I informed Hermione.

"You can probably get Divination in next semester," Hermione said. "I wouldn't recomend it."

"Oh, okay," I said then Hermione and I discussed our opinions on the History of Magic class. It was taught by a ghost. I was excited for my classes. I knew that it's O.W.L.s year and we get a lot of homework, but it is magic homework about magic!
