Despite Harry's determination to catch Malfoy out, Harry had no luck at all over the next couple days. I noticed that he started going to the bathroom multiple times in a period to consult the map. It was slowly becoming an obsession of his, but I could understand his need to do something instead of nothing like the adults wanted us to. I could imagine that it was a way to occupy his mind from the fight that was happening between his two best friends.
Tonks never replied to Fred's and my letter, proving what Fred mentioned about Tonks avoiding anyone near the Weasley's to be true.
On Fred's and I one year anniversary, I found myself being more distant from Harry and Hermione. I didn't join them for breakfast, instead eating my oatmeal in the kitchens with Dobby to entertain me.
"Miss Potter, why so sad?" Dobby asked, passing me a cup of pudding. I smiled at the gesture but I shook my head and passed it back.
"I'm missing my boyfriend," I smiled at Dobby's attempt to cheer me up with pudding. "One year ago today was when he and I went on our first official date."
"Isn't today the day of love?" asked Dobby, grabbing my empty bowl as I nodded.
"Yeah, Valentine's day," I sighed, thinking about the wonderful day a year ago. "When Fred first asked me, I thought we were just going to hang out at Hogsmeade, maybe sell some of his joke shop products. But then it actually turned into a date. And after our Quidditch practice he finally asked me out."
"Sounds like a gentleman, Miss," Dobby said.
"He is a perfect gentleman," I sighed again, pulling out my journal to write the said gentleman. He had already wrote me.
Morning Beautiful, you know what day it is? wrote Fred.
I pulled my muggle pen out and began to write my reply.
It's Friday the fourteenth, I wrote.
I turned to Dobby, "Thank you for the breakfast."
"You're welcome, Miss."
I turned and left the kitchen and moved to my next class, passing the Great Hall. I glanced down at the journal and paused at what was written.
Where are you?
I frowned and replied, On my way to class, why?
I continued my way to class when I heard running behind me. I immediately, shoved my hand in my pocket, wondering if I should grab the Invisible Object or my wand, hide or defend? I decided on defend and grabbed the wand, turning.
"Woah, nice to know you have good defensive reflexes, Miss Potter," Professor McGonagall said, blacking up but standing firm. "Will you accompany me?"
"Sure," I shrugged, stuffing my book into my book bag and putting my wand back into my pocket. "Is everything okay?"
Professor McGonagall didn't answer. I felt my stomach drop.
"What happened?" I asked, rushing right next to her.
"Oh, you will see in a moment," Professor McGonagall said, her lips pressed into a thin line. "I was looking for you at breakfast, I'm guessing you decided to eat in the kitchens this morning?"
"Yes," I replied, not wanting to explain how lonely I was feeling and the need to be alone.
I nervously followed her to her office. She paused outside the door and shot me a smile, something that I was not expecting. McGonagall then pushed the door open and held it for me to go inside. I gave her a confused glance and made my way inside.
