In the midst of the jolly hug, Harry flinched. I opened my eyes to see his hands fly up to his forehead, to the scar.

"Harry?" I asked as we backed away from him. I instantly became nervous.

Harry struggled against seeing what Voldemort was doing, gasping, "I understand, Gregorovitch had the Elder Wand a long time ago. I saw You-Know-Who trying to find him. When he tracked him down, he found that Gregorovitch didn't have it anymore: It was stolen from him by Grindelwald. How Grindelwald found that Gregorovitxh had it, I don't know—but if he was stupid enough to spread the rumor."

Harry paused for a moment; eyes open but not seeing us.

"And Grindelwald used the Elder Wand to become powerful. And at the height of his power, when Dumbledore knew he was the only one who could stop him, he dueled Grindelwald and beat him, and he took the Elder Wand."

"Dumbledore had the Elder Wand?" said Ron. "But then—where is it now?"

"At Hogwarts," Harry said through gritted teeth, fighting to stay with us in the Shell Cottage kitchen.

"But then, let's go!" said Ron urgently.

"It's too late for that," said Harry, clutching his head. "He knows where it is now. He's there now."

"Harry!" said Ron furiously. "How long have you known this—why have we been wasting time? Why did you talk to Griphook first? We could go, we could still go—"

"No," said Harry, and he sank to his knees. "Hermione is right. Dumbledore didn't want me to have it. He didn't want me to take it. He wanted me to get the Horcruxes."

"The unbeatable wand, Harry?" moaned Ron.

"I'm supposed to ... I'm supposed to get the Horcruxes..."

I looked to Hermione who bent down to wipe some of the sweat off Harry's head.

"Let's get him to bed," she said, looking to Ron to help her lift the fully-grown man.

We stuck him in the closest room, where Dean had been the night before. I summoned a wet, cold clothe and put it to rest on his head, which no doubt was in excruciating pain.

Ron left the room to tell Bill and Fleur they could come back in.

"I think that is the first time he has chosen not to act," Hermione said, looking fondly down at Harry.

I nodded, standing up from the edge of his bed.

"Um, did you tell them?" I asked her.

"About what?" Hermione looked to me, her eyes calculating.

"The engagement," I said in a low tone.

"Oh, yes, I did," Hermione blushed. "It came up... here, let me fill you in on everything that has been happening..."

Once Hermione had told me their full story, with help from Ron's interjections about the basis of his leaving, it was my turn. I told them about how Malfoy kidnapped me and the odd kindness that had been shown to me in rare, human moments. Ron was disgusted at this, but Hermione looked curious.

"I wonder why Malfoy has had the change of heart, just a year ago he was actively trying to murder you," she said, pulling her hair back into a ponytail.  "Anyway, we can't figure that out now. Lily, where are you sleeping?"

"I have no clue," I said.

"I'm grabbing some floor in here, you are welcome to share if you'd like, but I think your fiancé would rather you go sleep in the tent with him."
