I smiled the whole way to the common room out of pure excitement. Now was a time I've waited for. Now was a time I planned for. Now was now and my excitement was inevitable. My mind was oddly clear all of a sudden. I knew what to do.Ron and Hermione were sitting in the common room. "What does he want?" Hermione said at once. "Are you okay?"
"I'm fine," said Harry shortly, racing past them, up the stairs to his dormitory.
"Me too, listen, Harry is leaving with Dumbledore and I am staying because Malfoy will have a clear shot at whatever he is doing—"
Harry bounded down the stairs and into the common room, skidding to a halt where Ron and Hermione sat, me standing in front of them.
"I've got to be quick," Harry panted. "Dumbledore thinks I'm getting my Cloak. Listen..."
He dove into the story, talking threw Hermione's gasps of horror and Ron's questions, I could answer them later.
"...so you see what this means?" Harry finished at a gallop. "The castle is without Dumbledore and Malfoy is ready to do whatever he has been planning. No, listen to me!" he hissed as both Ron and Hermione showed every sign of interrupting. "I know it was Malfoy celebrating in the Room of Requirement, it's him, he was the one ordered by Voldemort himself to kill Lily, who knows who else. Here—" He shoved the Marauder's Map into Hermione's hands. "You've got to watch him and you've got to watch Snape too. Use anyone else who you can rustle up from the DA, Hermione, those contact Galleons will still work, right? Dumbledore says he's put extra protection in the school, but if Snape is involved, he'll know what Dumbledore's protection is and how to avoid it—but he won't be expecting you lot to be on the watch, will he?"
"Harry—"
"We haven't time to argue!" I said curtly.
"Take this as well—" Harry thrust socks into Ron's hands.
"Thanks," said Ron. "Er—why do I need socks?"
"You need whats inside, it's the Felix Felicis. Share it between yourselves and Ginny too. Say goodbye to her for me. I'd better go, Dumbledore is waiting."
"Listen to him, at the moment you're most vulnerable, don't act rashly, just think through it!" I advised, trying to be vague yet also helpful for when he faced the Inferi.
"We don't want the luck, you take it. Who knows what you'll be facing?" asked Hermione.
"I'll be fine, I'll be with Dumbledore," said Harry. "I want to know you lot are okay... Don't look at me like that, Hermione... I'll see you later."
And he was off.
"What did he say? Malfoy was ordered to kill you?" asked Hermione immediately.
"Correct, Sirius told me during the summer, it's why I don't eat in the Great Hall," I explained shortly as possible. "Where is your coin?" I added, ignoring her look of confusion.
"I'll grab it," Hermione said.
"I'll come with you," I said. We rushed up to the dorms. I stopped at Ginny's, grabbed her, and pulled her out with an explanation.
"What is going on," she asked, startled.
"We need to protect the castle, go down to the common room, Ronald will fill you in."
She grinned. "Finally, I am invited on an adventure!" He bright red hair danced behind her as she galloped down the stairs gleefully.
I finished running up the rest of the stairs into my dormitory. I went to my trunk and grabbed my athletic leggings and changed from my skirt. I then grabbed a small bag from my bedside table.
