Part 13: Birthday Party

"Did you get to talk to Trent last night?" Ashley looks at you, and takes a bite of her frozen yogurt.
You nod and swallow your bite. "Yeah, I did for a little while. He stayed on until he got to tell me happy birthday.. Then he had to go because they were gonna finish filming something.."
"That late at night??" Randi Kathrn asked.
"Apparently. He said they are kinda behind on schedule..."
"Maybe he will get to come home soon.." Ashley says again and checks her phone.
"He said hopefully by the end of next week or early the next week... I'm just ready to see him, face to face."
"Yeah" Randi Kathryn says looking at you "we face timed him before he face timed you Tuesday night, and it's great  but it's not the same!"
"for sure." Ashley says.
You scrape the last bit of fro yo out of your cup and eat it.
As y'all head back to Amory, easy conversation fills the car.
"Are y'all comin to the longhorn tonight??"
You ask
"Well duh" Ashley says. "It's your birthday party!!!"
You laugh and Randi Kathryn nods and smiles at you.
They drop you off at your house and promise to see you later. When you walk into your house, you see a gorgeous bouquet of colorful Gerber Daisies sitting on the table. You walk over to them and pull the card out of the flowers.
On the front of the small envelope, it says "(y/n) (y address)"
You slide the card out of the envelope carefully and read.
"Happy birthday, pretty girl. Sorry I can't be there to celebrate with you today, but I'll see you soon. Always, TH"
A smile spreads across your face. You pull out your phone and take a picture of the flowers. You add it to a tweet and say "even 1000 miles away, he knows how to make me smile! Thank you @trentwharmon ! You're the greatest❤️" and hit tweet.
Your notifications start blowing up immediately, and you close Twitter and walk into the living room. Katie sees you, and says "you got some flowers, sissy. Did you see them?"
"I did! They were pretty weren't they?"
"Yep! Who sended them to you??" She comes up to you and climbs in your lap.
"Trent!"
"He's home??" She asks, her eyes growing wide.
"No, he just called the flower shop and had them sent here, since he's in LA."
A sadness clouds her eyes and she says "oh.."
"Yeah" you hug her "but he will be home soon!"
She smiles at you and goes back to playing. You go to your mom's room and let her know you're home.  Then, you go up to your room and turn on Netflix and check your phone.
You open your Twitter and see that Trent tweeted you back. "Hope you like them! Happy birthday, beautiful!" With that response had come 37 new followers within 20 minutes. You read through some of their tweets responding to his tweet and shake your head..
"The THIRSTINESS..." You think and laugh.
You open your Instagram and thank everyone for the birthday wishes and then focus on The Office, playing on Netflix.
after a few minutes, your phone buzzes and a message from Trent appears.
"Hope you're having fun with RK and Ash. Hope you love your flowers. I wanted to give you a little something until I can get home and give you your actual present.!"
"Thank you so much, sweet boy. I love them!! And I love how you got my favorite flowers❤️ we had fun today. I'm about to start getting ready to go eat tonight. Wish you were gonna be there... I miss your hugs."
He responds right back with "I wish I could be too, sweets. Enjoy it."
You smile and say "this is the fastest you've responded since you've been out there.. You have a lot of down time today?"
"A good bit!! Not sure how long it will last!!"
"Can we FaceTime for a second??" You ask. He opens it and doesn't respond for a minute.
"Just got called for a meeting. Sorry. We can FaceTime tonight if you want."
You feel disappointment grow inside of you but you try to push it away. And type "of course!! Talk to you soon!❤️"
You look at the time on your phone and then watch another episode of The office.
Then, you start getting ready to go eat.
Katie comes in your room and sits on your bed while you do your makeup.
"You're so pretty, sissy.." She says. You smile at her in the mirror and say "I got it from you." She giggles and her snaggle tooth smile shows.
"I can't believe you turned six last week!" You turn around and say to her .
"I know. I'm just growin up." She says and smiles at you.
You finish getting ready and then sit down next to Katie. You pull out your phone and take a picture of both of you and send it to Trent on snapchat.
He snaps back immediately with a picture of him "my two favorite girls"
You smile and lock your phone as your mom comes in.
"Y'all ready??"
"Yes mam." You say as you all three walk down the stairs.
Your dad and Kyle are near the door and head to the car when they see y'all walk into the kitchen.
