Part 16: Beach Dayz Part 2

You walk into the hotel room and immediately throw your bags on the floor and lay on the bed. Ashley looks at you and says "ya tired?"
"Uh yeah. We've been here 12 hours and I'm exhausted." You laugh "those pictures were harder than I thought they would be.."
"Yeah" RK says, walking back into the room and shutting the door behind her "those boys are hard headed." And shakes her head.
You sit up and stretch out your legs and look at Ashley and RK, who are getting ready to go crab hunting.
"Are you going with us?" RK looks over her shoulder and asks.
"Uhh I don't know" you say as your phone vibrates. You open up the new message.
"Hey baby girl. Are you going crab hunting?"
"I dont know.. I'm really tired. I may hang out in the hotel room while y'all go." You hit send and then look at Randi Kathryn who is putting her hair in a bun.
"I think I'm just gonna hang around here."
She turns and smirks at you as your phone vibrates again and says "yeah okay. That's fine."
You pick up your phone but look at her again "RK, I think trents going with y'all."
You glance down and open the newest message from Trent.
"Oh I'm not going either." Before you can respond, he sends another message.
"Too tired to hang out with me?"
You feel yourself blush and you type back "never ever😉"
You look up to see Ashley looking at you.
You says "uh no he's not..."

A few minutes later, all three guys come walking in. Clay and Matt are each carrying a flash light and Trent is carrying his guitar that he had bought earlier that day. You sit up from laying on the bed and Ashley stands up and hugs Clay. They walk out behind RK and Matt. As Ashley closes the door, she catches your attention, winks and mouths "good luck".
You glare at her and feel yourself blush as she closes the door. Trent sits down on the floor, next to the bed and leans back against it. He plays a few chords and then starts singing "wise men say.. Only fools rush in.. But I can't help falling in love with you.." You lay down on your stomach on the bed and watch Trent's fingers explore the guitar strings over his shoulder...
"Like a river flows, surely to the sea... Darlin so it goes somethings are meant to be..."
He glances up at you over his shoulder and smiles as he continues "take my hand, take my whole life too, for I can't help falling in love with you..."
You put your hand on the back of his neck and he leans his head back further, and continues to sing "shall I stay? Would it be a sin..." You lean down and kiss him on the cheek and keep your face close to his as he finishes "for I can't help falling in love with you...." As he sings the last part, he slowly turns his head toward yours and looks you in the eyes. As the song fades, he leans in and kisses you quickly. then, you lean in and touch his lips to yours again, slowly. You touch his cheek and let the kiss grow. You slide your other hand through his hair and then pull away. A smile slides its way across your face and you notice the one on his face. As he pulls away, he winks at you and then starts strumming the guitar again.
"You know I'd fall apart without you.. I don't know how you do what you do..."
You feel chills run down your spine as the smile on your face grows...
"Put aside the math and the logic of it you gotta know you're wanted too. I wanna wrap you up, wanna kiss your lips, I wanna make you feel wanted."
As he keeps singing, you lean down and kiss his neck, and then his jaw line, and then his cheek...
"I wanna show you what I see tonight when I wrap you up and kiss your lips...
as good as you make me feel, I wanna make you feel better... Better than your fairy tales better than your best dreams.. You're more than every thing I need. You're all I ever wanted..." He kisses you slowly again... "Wanna hold your hand forever.. Never let you forget it.. I wanna make you feel wanted..." He kisses you again and when he leans back, you see a look in his eyes you haven't before and it sends chills down your spine.. He takes a deep breath and then turns back to face the front, and strums another few chords and then starts singing quietly like he always does when he isn't sure of the words and then it grows as he keeps singing..
"Darlin I will be lovin you, til we're 70... Oh baby my heart could still fall as hard at 23.. I'm thinkin bout how people fall in love in mysterious ways.." He turns and looks at you and sings "I keep fallin for you every single day and I just wanna tell you I am.." He kisses you on the cheek. "Honey now, take me into your lovin arms. Kiss me under the Light of a thousand stars..."
You lay your head against his and close your eyes..
"I'm thinkin out loud... Maybe we found love right where we are..."
As he keeps singing, you kiss his cheek again and keep your head turned toward him... "Baby your smile's forever In my mind in memories, I'm thinkin bout how, people fall in love in mysterious ways maybe it's all part of a plan.. I just keep on makin the same mistakes, hoping that you'll understand..."
You smile and think back to earlier when y'all are supper and Trent kept on appologizing for breaking your shoe by stepping on it.
"Baby. It's fine..." You had said and you laugh to your self as you remember how he just kept apologizing.
when sees the smile on your face, he finishes the song "maybe we found love right where we are..."
As his voice fades out, he lays his guitar down beside him and turns toward you. He looks into your eyes and puts his hand on your cheek and rubs his thumb over your bottom lip and then leans in. He kisses you slowly and moves his hand to your neck as he climbs to his knees to reach you better. You sit up and put your legs on either side of him and wrap your arms around his neck as you deepen the kiss. You feel him try to pull away but you tighten your grip on his neck and pull him closer. He wraps his arms around your waist and pulls back for a second. He takes a deep breath and then you put your forehead on his and look into his eyes and smile. a smile crosses his face too and he touches his lips to yours and chills explode all over your body as he moves one of his hands to your neck and wraps his other arm all the way around you. He kisses your lips and then trails to your neck. And then back up to your lips. You pull him up and onto the bed with you and he pulls away and looks into your eyes. You see questions in his eyes so you keep eye contact and kiss him again slowly. He takes another deep breath and then lays down next to you and kisses you, letting the kiss grow even deeper than before and slides his hands down your back and pulls you in. You pull back and smile at him and lean in to kiss him again. As he turns over and puts an arm on either side of your head, his phone starts ringing. He ignores it at first, and puts his hand on your waist as it stops ringing, and his hand touches your bare skin on your stomach where your shirt has slid up. The chills return as he kisses you again and you feel the wall between y'all start to break as he stops holding back. As he puts his arm under you and pulls you closer, his phone starts ringing again, and he breaks your kiss and takes a deep breath and rolls over to his back and pulls the phone out of his pocket. He is still breathing hard when he answers.
"Hello?"
"Hey mr. Scott. Yes sir. Sorry. I uh.." He glances over at you and holds his finger to his lips "I didn't hear my phone.."
"Yes sir.."
"Yes sir I can..."
"I think they said Tuesday."
"Oh really? Okay."
You slide your hand around his waist and lay your head on his chest as the call wraps up.
"Alright. I'll see you Thursday."
"Yes sir"
"See ya.. Bye!"
When he clicks end, you look up at him and say "everything okay?"
"Yeah" he smiles down at you "I don't have to fly out until Wednesday night. Our first meeting is Thursday morning."
"Trent that's great..." You say as every word hits you in the gut. "I wish you didn't have to go..." You say quietly..
"I wish you could go with me..." He says and kisses your forehead.
You lean up on your elbow and look at him. "Then why can't we come out there? Why do we have to wait until the finale?"
"Because, babe" He sits up and leans against the back of the bed and you sit up and look at him. "I don't want y'all to pick up your lives to come out there and then me get voted off and it all be for nothing"
"You aren't gonna get voted off baby." You say.
"There are so many singers better than me. I'm just being realistic." He says and then looks you with a sad look in his eyes. "I want you out there with me, darlin. But if you're there, I'll be worried about making sure you're okay, and. I need to focus on my music."
You feel the tears gather in your eyes and you try to look down before he notices but he pulls your chin up with his finger and looks into your eyes "I know it doesn't seem fair. And I want you there. Never think that it's not that. I'll miss you more than you'll ever know."
No words seem right, so you close the distance and kiss him again, wrapping your arms around his neck.
He slides an arm around you and uses his other to hold himself up. As the kiss grows again, he pulls away, looks at you and then stands up and holds out his hand.
"Wanna go for a walk with me?"
As you feel disappointment and a tad bit of relief flood your veins, you take his hand and stand up.

After you each get your shoes on, you walk out of the hotel room and across the street to the beach.
When you get to the edge of the water, Trent slides his fingers between yours and starts walking. You walk slowly beside him and look up at the stars..
"I never wanna leave..."
"Me either... I'm sorry it's such a short trip.."
"No thank you for making it happen... I needed this.." You say as you lay your head on his arm as you keep walking.
After you walk a little farther, he slows down and eventually y'all come to a stop.
He turns to face you and takes hold of both of your hands and slides his fingers between yours. He opens his mouth to say something but then takes a breath and looks up at the stars. You follow his gaze but then look back at him. When he looks back at you, you see tears in his eyes.
"(Y/n). I love you."
"I love you too, Trent, what's..." You interrupt him.
"I have to tell you something. But. I don't want you to think that I'm trying to force you into anything. I just have to tell you."
Your heart drops and you look down at the water washing over your feet and then back at him and nod.
"I'm so in love with you" he says quietly.
"I'm so.." You start, but he puts his finger on your lips and says
"Stop. I'm so in love with you. And.." He pauses and then blinks and regains eye contact and takes your hand again. "And.. I'm going to marry you one day. No matter what. No matter where this ride takes us. No matter what kind of shit we have to go through. I'm going to marry you. Please. Remember that. I'm not going to do anything that will mess this up. Because you're my dream. I am going marry you. No matter what happens in the next month and a half, or any time after that. You're my girl. And one day, you're gonna be my wife."
He releases one of your hands and moves the stray hairs off of your face and wipes the tears that you didn't even know we're there.
You open your mouth the speak but close it when your can't find the right words. He leans down and kisses you slowly as the tears roll down both of your cheeks. When you pull out of the kiss, you take a deep breath and wrap your arms around his neck "I love you so much, Trenton William. And I can't wait for the day I get to marry you. No matter how close or far away it is. I'm gonna marry you, too."
He closes the gap between y'all again and kisses you. You wrap your arms around his waist and then he breaks the kiss and pulls you into a hug. He holds you like that for a minute and then leans back and you look up at him.
"Because I love you that much.." He says and then pauses.. "I have to tell you that night's like tonight... What was about to happen back in the hotel. That can't happen. Not very often. Practically not ever.. Because I don't think I can trust myself to not take it farther than I should. Because I want to." He says and looks up and then back at you and let's out a breath. "Oh my Lord how I want to. But I can't.. We need to promise each other right now, that we won't put ourselves back in that situation..."
You look up at him and see the most sincere look on his face and you can't help but smile, even through the hurt in your heart. "I want to, too." You say quietly.. "But we both know.." He says "if that had gone much farther, we wouldn't be happy with ourselves. We have to promise, baby. No matter how hard it is..."
"I promise, Trent, that I will do my best."
A smile creeps up onto his face and he laughs and leans down and kisses you softly. He leans back and says "I love you."
"I love you, too.." You whisper.
He takes a step back and takes your hands again and bows his head and you do the same.
"Hey God." Trent starts. "I just want to start by saying thank you for all of this beautiful creation around us. Thank you for thinking of us when you made it." He takes a deep breath "and Lord, thank you for (y/n) and for putting her in my life. It was truly You who have her to me..." He runs his thumbs over your hands and continues "lord help us keep our promise to each other, and to You..." He pauses and when he speaks again you hear the smile in his voice "to the best of our abilities.." You giggle and then he says "we love you, God.. Amen.."
"Amen" you say and then you look up at him. He kisses your forehead again and then pulls you into a hug. You stand in his embrace for another minute, and then he says "we should get back. RK and them are gonna start wondering."
"Crap. RK and Ashley" you think to yourself as he takes your hand and you slide your fingers through his, slowly and head back to the hotel.

When y'all walk into the room, everyone is sitting in the floor between the beds, playing a board game. You and Trent join them, and get your butts kicked.
After the guys leave the room, well after 2 AM, you dodge all of the many questions from RK and Ashley by giving vague answers. When you crawl into bed that night, you see a message from Trent.
"Goodnight my precious girl. Never forget what I told you tonight.. I can't wait for someday... No matter how long this ride takes us...I love you so much."
You turn out the light and text back "someday can't get here soon enough. I love you so much more. See you in the morning."
You put your phone on the side table and close your eyes and try to go to sleep but you can't help but smile and think about someday, and all the days between now and then...
