12 minutes later, you are on the porch swing in your pajamas with a blanket wrapped around you when Trent pulls into your drive way.
As he climbs out of his car, you wipe away the tears and he starts walking over to you slowly.
When he gets to the bottom stair, he notices you crying and takes a deep breath. "What's wrong now?"
"Seriously?" You ask as he walks up
"Yeah you just said you wanted to see me and now you're looking at me like I've hurt you again." He snaps as he takes a step closer. "I had just dosed off but here I am. Because I don't want you to be mad at me."
You dart your eyes over to him and stare for a second. "If you didn't want to come, you didn't have to."
"Well if I didn't then you wouldn't have shut up about it until I left again."
Your mouth drops open for a second, and you take a quick breath in.
"Trent." You say quietly as tears start rolling down your face again.
"I... i... I uh... I didn't mean that how it came out." Trent stammers as he walks closer to you.
"You meant it exactly how it sounded." You say and look away from him. As he gets to arm length of you, he wraps his arms around you and sits down next to you on the swing. "Baby. I'm sorry. I'm tired and it's late and I didn't mean it like that."
You jerk away from him and stand up. "No Trent. You said what you meant."
He stands up too and you take a step away. "Trent I'm sorry I don't shut up about stuff. And I'm sorry I asked you to get out of your bed to come talk to me because we got in a fight."
"(Y/n)."
"No Trent. Since you had just went to sleep, and then had to get up, just leave."
"Darlin..." he says and tries to wrap you in another hug
"No Trent." You say as a warm river of tears roll down your face. "Go. Go back home. Go back to bed."
"No. I don't want to." He says, suddenly shocked at the seriousness of your tone.
"I want to stay here and..."
"Well I don't want you to.." you are shocked at the words that come out of your mouth. "I'm tired of this. Go home." each word stings the back of your throat.
Suddenly, his mouth drops open and he takes a step back. "Please don't do this. Babe. Please." You see the tears puddle in his eyes and you almost tell him that you want him to stay. And to talk to it out. But all you can do is blink and whisper "go. Please.. go..."
"No." He says as he takes a step toward you and you take a step back. You look behind you and see you the door behind you. You look back at Trent and see that he is visibly shaking as tears roll down his face.
"Go." You whisper. And then look down as you turn around and run in your house and close the door.
"You promised." You hear Trent say before you can run to your room.

Once you get up to your room, you throw yourself on the bed and the sobs start shaking your whole body.
A few minutes later. Once you get control of your tears, you stand up and pull back your curtain to see if Trent is still in the driveway. You breath catches in your throat as you see his tail lights as he slowly drives out of your driveway. You lay back down on your bed as the sobs start again. For the rest of the night, you lay in bed and look up at the ceiling and cry, and wonder why you did what you just did.
