Part 22: Saturday Night on the Town Part 2

You see your group standing a little ways from the bottom of the stairs. When you and Trent meet them, clay looks straight at Trent and says "that's Carrie underwood."
Trent looks over and says "oh. Yeah it is..."
He gets visibly nervous and you slip your hand back in his as he leads you all over to a table.
After you all sit down, Trent goes over to order drinks and leaves you at the table with the group.
As soon as he walks off, RK looks at you and says "I can't believe my brother is rubbing elbows with Carrie Underwood and Jordin Sparks and Daughtry."
Matt elbows her side and says "tonight, we are too." Everybody smiles at that and Trent comes back with a drink for everyone and sits down next to you.
As you all sit around and talk, he puts his hand on your leg under the table, and it sends chills up your spine.
"I feel like there should be a designated meet and greet time" clay says as he looks around, in shock. "Like I feel like I don't have a right to talk to any of them.."
"Well for the most part," Trent says as he follows Clays gaze around the room,  "I just don't approach anybody. I mostly wait for people to come to me, because I feel the same way."
You smile over at him and slide your fingers between his "you are one of them now, though..."
"That's what they keep telling me" he says with a laugh.
As he starts to say something, someone walks up behind you and taps Trent on the shoulder. When the rest of your group recognizes the person, all of their mouths fall open. You look over your shoulder to see Trent hugging Jordin Sparks.
"Trent! It's so good to see you!!" She says, happily as their hug ends.
"It's great to see you too, Ms. Jordin." He says as he smiles at her and then turns toward the table.
"This is my sister Randi Kathryn, her boy friend Matt, my best friend Clay, and my other best Friend Ashley, and this is my girl friend (y/n).  He says motioning to each person as he goes.
"Nice to meet y'all!" She says as she sits down in the chair next to you.
"I've heard so much about you." She laughs as she leans closer to you.
"That boy has been in love with you since I met him. And I don't think he had even told you yet, but he told me... He has told you right?"
"Yes I make sure she knows it, very often."
"Good, cuz she needs to know it, having to put up with you."
You laugh and say "I'm pretty fond of him too." She laughs and then hugs you. "See me before you leave! I gotta get back to my table!"
As she walks away, everyone looks over at Trent and a smile breaks out across his face.
"There's no way that really happened." Clay says quietly, and Ashley elbows him. "Hey. remember me? Your girlfriend?"
"Yes honey," he says in a mocking tone and then leans over and kisses her cheek.
Trent sits back next to you and you lean over and whisper "what have you been telling all these people?"
Even in the dim lights, you see the blood rush to his cheeks and he looks down as he shrugs.
You laugh but before he can answer, Dalton comes over and sits in the chair that Jordin was just sitting in.
You look over at Ashley and see her get uncomfortable and clay notices too. He looks from her to Dalton, who is staring at her.
"I came over to apologize for what I said the other night, Ashley."
She looks at him and smiles "I hope we can all be friends since me and Trent are friends... Sometimes I'm just dumb and don't think about what I'm saying when I say it. I'm so sorry."
Ashley laughs and says "oh it's completely fine."
"Good!" He says quietly, and smiles at her and you see clay looking at her with questions in his eyes.
A few minutes later, when Dalton goes back to his table, clay looks over at Ashley and says "um what was that about?"
Ashley shakes her head and laughs "just a misunderstanding. All is good now."
Clay doesn't seem pleased but gives up on getting a real answer when Ashley looks over at him and smiles. You watch them get lost in each other's eyes for a second and Ashley whispers something to clay, and you can see the red in his cheeks. He leans over and kisses her and then Trent taps on your leg. You look over at him and he says "come with me. I have a few people I want you to meet." He takes your hand and pulls you to your feet.
He laces his fingers between yours and leads you from table to table, introducing you to American idol alumni.
When you get to Carrie Underwood's table, she jumps up and comes over and wraps you in a hug.
"Oh my goodness. Trent has told me so much about you." You look over at trent and see him blushing again.
"He's just the sweetest thing."
"I think he is too, Mrs. Carrie." You say and she smiles at you. "No call me Carrie. I'm not THAT much older than you." You laugh and she turns to her husband and says "hey take a picture of us, I feel like I'm gonna need it after the finale."
She stands between you and Trent and it takes all that you have to stand still for the picture.
When y'all walk away from her table, you look at Trent and he smiles at you.
"Oh. My. gosh." You say as you walk back to your table.
Before he can respond, three people step in front of y'all, and it takes a second to be able to see their faces. When you see who they are, your knees almost go weak and you glance over at Trent and see that he is feeling the same way.
"Hey Trent. We've been trying to catch you." The first guy says as he sticks out his hand. "I'm David Archuleta.."
"Yes sir." Trent says as he shakes his hand "I know who you are. Big fan."
"Well bruh. I'm a big fan of you. The way you sang chandelier, blew my socks off. If you don't win..."
"Thank you so much man." Trent says "I have some really great competition. I'm just blessed to make it this far."
The next guy sticks out his hand to you. "I'm Scotty Mccreery." He says as you shake his hand "and this is my girl, Gabby!"
You shake her hand next and she says "hey!"
"Hey I'm (y/n)" you say to both of them.
Trent says "she's my better half."
Scotty looks him up and down and laughs "I can see that.. I feel the same way about this one."
"Scotty, I've been a huge fan since your season, man." Trent says, shaking his hand.
"Likewise. You've got some talent. Any word on what genre you'll be signed to if you win?"
"Scotty said something about a Justin Timberlake Country Album."
"Sweet!" Scotty says "have you heard your single yet?"
"Yeah man. It's called Falling." Trent says and you look up at him, shocked "mr. Keith helped write it"
"Dude. That's cool!" Scotty says and then hands Trent a small slip of paper. "Here's my number, in case you ever need any help with anything."
"Thank you so much man. It was great to meet you!"
As y'all walk off, you look at Trent and say "why didn't you tell me you heard your single?"
"I told you we were recording them yesterday."
"Oh." You say and laugh as you dodge the people on the dance floor.
Trent laughs and as you get back to the table, you sit down next to him and look out on the dance floor.
You see Clay and Ashley dancing next to Randi K and Matt and you laugh. Trent points at clay and throws his head back laughing and clay flips him off behind Ashley's back.
Trent looks at you as another song comes on and stands up and says "will you dance with me?"
"Trent I don't dance" you laugh and shake your head.
"Neither do I. Please?" He smiles down at you and smiles and hold his hand out.
You look at him for another second and then take his hand.
He leads you out to the dance floor and the next song starts playing. He puts his arms around your waist and you wrap yours around his neck and smile up at him.

Trent starts singing along as you away with him.

As he sings, Trent looks into your eyes and with every word, more chills run up your back.

As the song ends, Trent leans down and touches his lips to yours and you can't help but smile as the kiss grows.
When he leans back, he says "I love you."
"I love you too." You respond and he slides his fingers between yours.
You walk back to the table with him and sit down on his lap, and wrap your arm around his back and you lay your head on his shoulder. He wraps his arm around your waist and pulls you closer.
Clay and Ashley walk over, followed by Matt and Randi Kathryn, who is yawning.
Trent looks at his watch and you sneak a peak too.
1:30 AM.
He glances at you and smiles.
"Okay. It's time to go. Everybody's getting tired."
You follow him out and the group follows y'all. When you get outside, you all stand and talk for a minute and you look up at Trent.
As if he can read your mind after looking into your eyes for a second, he says "y'all, me and (y/n) are gonna hang out for a few minutes. The hotel is just right down there" as he points. He explains to Clay how to get back and they all head off to the hotel and leave you and Trent standing there looking at each other.
