Part 22: Saturday Night on the Town Part 3

Trent takes your hand and leads you across the street.
"Trent where are we going?"
"I know a 24 hour ice cream shop that's just right around here, is that okay?"
You smile at him and nod.
"Sounds perfect."

After you get your ice cream, you sit at a table and wait for Trent to pay and then he comes and sits down across from you. You take a big bite of your ice cream and Trent says "thank you for going with me tonight..."
"Thank you for letting me.." You smile at him and say quietly.
"There's no body else I would have wanted to go with." He says and winks at you.
"Tell me about your single... Falling?" You say as you take another bite.
He smiles and then says "yeah Falling! It's um.." He says and then you see a little bit of red on his cheeks. "It's pretty great.. I actually love it. I'll send you a link when I get back to the hotel room."
"Okay" you say and then take another bite of your ice cream.
"Was tonight too much? All the people?"
"No. I enjoyed it. Not because I got to meet all of those people. I got to be with you..."
You say and smile at him.. "And I got to meet all those people...."
"Mhm that's what I thought." He says laughing.
After you both finish your ice cream, you head outside and he slides is fingers between yours.
You walk together for a second and then he says "I like you being here with me."
"I like being here with you..." You say quietly and smile up at him. "Life is weird when you aren't at home... I feel like I'm never completely at home."
"I understand. It's so weird being over 1000 miles from home and knowing that you are there and I'm here... Most nights I just wanna get on a plane and fly home..." He says as you cross the street.
"Most nights," you say as you fight back tears "most nights i want you to..."
"I know...."
"But I'm so proud of you, Trent. This is opening all the doors you want open.."
"Yeah I guess..."
"What do you mean you guess?" You ask as you slow down your pace.
"I mean this has always been my dream. Singing. Making a living singing. That was my dream. Until I met you. And now I just wanna be wherever you are..." He says and then "I know that's cheesy. But it's literally the truest thing I've said tonight."
"You're my cheddar, it's to be expected." You say after you giggle and then look up at him. "I know, T. But this has been your dream a lot longer. I'm here. I'm always gonna be here. This opportunity wont. Take it. We will make it work." You walk a little further until you are at the front of your hotel.
You turn and face him and take a deep breath. "The other night, I prayed that God would continue opening the doors for your dream.." You say and then continue "but I also prayed that I could have my dream one day. And do you know what that dream was?"
Trent looks down at you and shakes his head .
"My dream is to be wherever you are, living your dream by your side. That's my dream Trent. Wherever you are. That's where I wanna be."
He opens his mouth to answer but you continue "and it may take a while for that to happen full time, but every chance I get, I wanna be living out that dream."
The tears form in your eyes as you are talking and you can't stop them from rolling down your cheeks.
"Baby." Trent says as he moves a hair out of your face and wipes the tears from your cheeks and the tears try to fall out of the puddles in his eyes.
"Trent that's the truest thing I've said tonight."
He opens his mouth the speak again but then closes it and pulls your closer to him. You wrap your arms around his waist and hug him.
"Thank you." He says quietly. You pull back from the hug and smile up at him. He kisses the tip of your nose and you laugh.
"No thank you." You say. He looks at his watch and then at you.
"It's 3 AM."
"RK and Ashley are gonna think we've been doing stuff.."
"Psh let them think that." He says chuckling and pulling you in for another hug.
You lay your head on his chest and close your eyes.
After a minute, Trent says "hey look at the moon."
You open your eyes and look up and see the most beautiful full moon you have ever seen. You smile and say "it's so pretty!!"
You feel Trent looking at you and you meet his eyes and his smile grows.
"I love you( y/full/n). And I can't wait to marry you one day in the future."
"I love you more Trenton William Harmon. I can't wait to marry you one day in the not so distant future." You say with a smile.
"Wait. What?" Trent says as the smile grows on his face and you laugh and hug him again.
"No seriously what?" He says trying to look into your eyes but you keep looking away.
Finally, you let your eyes meet his and you take in every inch of him. His eyes look deep into yours and you lean in and out you lips on his quickly and gently. You pull away and then he meets yours with his again and the fire shoots back through your veins again as the kiss grows.
Trent puts his hands on your waist and you put slide one hand onto his neck and another into his hair.
After a second, you pull away and look into his eyes again.
"I need to go." He whispers quietly.
"I know." You say and kiss him again.
After a second he pulls away and takes a step back.  He smiles at you and then says "I'll see you in a few hours."
You smile at him and then run into the lobby.

When you climb into bed that night, RK and Ashley are still asking you questions.
"Goodnight." You say but they just keep on.
You tone them out and turn off the light. You check your phone and see you have a new message from Trent so you open it.
"Okay baby girl. Here's the link for my song. You'll prolly wanna listen to it by yourself the first time.. It's a pretty great song. I love it. And I love you. It's probably a good thing that you are sharing a room with my sister and Ashley.. Cuz if not.. That promise we made at the beach probably wouldn't have rang true tonight. And we can't have that😉 you looked absolutely gorgeously breath taking tonight. (As you always do). I'll see you in a few hours for church. I can't wait to marry you one day... Maybe in the not so distant future? I love you, princess. Goodnight."
You smile and type back "I'll listen to it in the morning- I'm trying to get Ashley and RK to go to sleep... I have to agree about the promise thing. I was almost ready to break that promise tonight. But thank you for being strong when I'm weak. And you looked perfectly handsome tonight. I can't wait to marry you in the (not so distant) future, either. I love you. 💕"
You hit send and then lay your phone down beside you.
As you fall asleep, you can help but remember how gorgeous those eyes were tonight. You fall asleep thanking God for blue eyes, full moons, and crazy dreams that come true.
