I woke up in a dark room. I kind of panicked because I hate being in pitch black. I sat up quickly almost falling off of something.
"Paul?"
I heard ruffling a few feet away. "Julia?"
"Where am I?" I asked a bit scared.
"Oh um, my room. You fell asleep and I didn't want to wake you, so I called your mother and told her you were staying over." I nodded still not being able to see him.
"Um, do you mind if you could slightly open up the blinds? It's just that I hate being in the dark." I was embarrassed to ask him because I didn't want him to think I was a wimp or anything.
"Sure," he said sleepily. He got up and when the blinds opened up a bit, I could see almost every detail on his face. The moon shone on him at just the right angle, making his eyes sparkle. "Is tha' better?"
I nodded and got under the covers. I pulled the sheets all the way to my shoulders making myself comfortable in his bed. Paul laid down on the floor and pulled a small blanket on top of him as he put his head on a small pillow. He turned around trying to fall asleep again.
"Paul?" I asked.
"Hmm?" He turned around a looked at me with sleepy eyes.
"Thank you"
"For what?"
"For being there for me. For being a friend when I need one." Now I sound like one of those girls. Great.
He smiled and grabbed my hand and sat on the side of the bed. "I'll
always be there for you. If you ever need me, I'll be right here."
I smiled, "Thanks. That really means a lot."
"Anything for you." He stood up to go back to bed. "Wait." He turned around.
"Um do you mind singing? My dad used to do that to me when I was little," I said as I played with my fingers. He sat back down on the bed and started singing. I wasn't exactly sure what song though.
I felt my eyes go heavy, and just before they closed I felt a kiss on the top of my forehead. I was a little surprised but I was to tired to say anything, but I could feel myself smile as I fell asleep.

I woke up to someone snoring next to me. I opened my eyes and saw Paul sleeping half on the bed and half off. I pushed him off the bed to wake him up. "Ouch," he said as he fell to the ground, "What was tha' for?" He hid a smile under his frown.
I laughed. "You fell asleep so, I pushed you off to wake you up." He got up and looked at me and I looked at him. Then out of nowhere he started tickling me. I burst out laughing.
"Paul stop!" I yelled as I gasped for breath. "That's payback for pushing me off the bed." He smirked. I sat on the bed trying to look mad, but just couldn't help but smile.
"Come 'ed let's go get some breakfast," he gestured. I quickly got up and followed him downstairs to the kitchen. Mike and Paul's dad were already eating.
"How was your sleep?" He asked. "Good, actually," I replied.
We ate quickly and then went up stairs to change, but I was already in my clothes so I just needed to do my hair. All I did was put it in a bun and I was ready to go.
I grabbed my stuff and waited for Paul at the door. "You ready?" He nodded. "Let's go then."
"So the band is having another practice tomorrow. Are ye going to come?" I thought about it for a bit. "I don't think so. It's just going to be awkward for me." He nodded understanding.
We walked in school and went our different ways. As soon as I got to my locker, Veronica and Kaithlyn swarmed around me.
"I heard what happened yesterday! Are ye alright?"
"Yes Kaithlyn. I'm fine."
"I'll cripple him for ye, if ye want me to." I smiled.
"No it's fine, Veronica."
"Are ye sure? We can teach him a lesson for ye."
"No! I'm fine, really." The bell rang and I closed my locker.
"Well I gotta go to class. I'll see ye later," said Veronica as she ran to her next class.
I walked in class prepared for full blown awkwardness, but in stead it wasn't awkward at all. George wasn't there but Holly was. It's always awkward with Holly anyway though, so she doesn't count.

I looked in my next few classes until lunch for George but he wasn't in any of them. I guess he cut school.
Lunch was boring because John and Kaithlyn were just making out next to me and Veronica and Stu were feeding each other food. It was quite cute actually. Paul and I just sat together and talked about the Quarrymen, Elvis, Buddy Holly, and just music in general.

Paul walked me home and to work. It was a slow day. But Paul actually stayed in the café and ordered some stuff. One of the other waitresses tried to flirt with him but he just smiled and ordered. He stayed until the end of my shift but went to the music store down the street for a bit then came back. He even walked me home on the way back.
"So after band practice tomorrow, can you teach me how to play a bit more of guitar?" I asked as we walked closer to my house. "Of course. Do you want me to come here or do ye want to come?"
"I can walk to your house afterwards. Ye don't have to walk all the way here." I smiled.
"Well I guess I'll see ye tomorrow." He waved goodbye and I waved back.
'What if I run into George?' I thought. 'I guess I'll find out'
