"Paulie, can't you rest later?" I whined as Paul stopped to take a break. He was breathing heavily as if he just ran a marathon.
He just laughed. "Ye weigh a lot more than ye think." I playfully slapped his arm. "Rude." I giggled.
He straitened up and I nearly fell off. He started walking back home where dinner was waiting for us. Halfway there we past George's house. He was playing his guitar on his porch steps. He was deep in concentration.
He looked so cute playing his guitar.
"Hi George!" I shouted across the street. I waved my arm like a lunatic to make sure he doesn't miss us. He looked up and smiled. Paul mouthed 'She weighs a ton' to George which almost made him drop his guitar from laughter. "Hey! Rude!" I hit Paul on his arm but not enough to hurt him.
"Ouch! That hurt." He smiled.
"Onward slave Paulie!" I yelled and pointed like a knight going into battle. He started to go a little faster, but not much. "Bye George" I called.
He waved as we turned a corner. "You can set me down now, Paul, riding you really takes a lot out of ya."
"Ha ha ha. Very funny." He laughed sarcastically as sweat came down his forehead.
"When do you guys have your next practice?" I asked wanting to start a conversation. "I believe tomorrow."
"And of course, yer always welcome." He smiled at me. "Thank you. When is your next gig?" He thought for a moment.
"That I'm not sure of, love." We walked home together with a few jealous stares from girls walking by.
"Well can I come to that one too?" I looked up at him. "Of course." He Taped my nose and made me blush. I tried to pinch his cheeks but he stopped me.
"No one touches me cheeks." He said waving his finger sassily in front of me. "Alright princess Paulie."

"That smells wonderful!" I called out as we came closer to my house. We walked in and I saw my mother setting the table. "Mom, can we help you with anything?" I asked. She shook her head no.
"I'm done. Why don't you kids sit down and I'll get the chicken." My stomach growled when I heard her say chicken. Paul looked over to me.
"Was that you?" I nodded and laughed. "I'm starving." I put my hand over my stomach. Mom put the food on the table and I started eating like there was no tomorrow. Of course I did it like a lady.
When I was finished Paul looked at me with wide eyes. "Did ye just eat all 'o that?"
I nodded and smiled satisfied. That was great.

"Bye Paul, see you tomorrow!" I yelled out to him as he walked home. "Bye Julia" He called back.
I went back in my house and I helped clean up. "Julia, now that Paul's gone we need to talk. The landlord is demanding more money so I am going to get a job and it would help if you got one too."
"Well mom, it won't be that easy, you know. I have school and homework. I don't even know where to look." I put the dishes in the sink.
"I know this is sudden and we just settled in and got rid of the stress from moving but we need more money. I nodded understanding.
"But I won't get one soon because I have to finish school work then I'll start looking. But where am I going to find a job?" My mother stopped and thought.
"Well there is a coffee shop that just opened up near Penny Lane. I went there yesterday and talked to the shop owner and he mentioned that he was looking for workers. I could see if he can be you the job."
I thought about it and nodded. I finished the dishes and went up to my room. I grabbed my guitar and started strumming the chords on it.
I forgot how good it felt when you play after a long, hard day. As I played I thought of Paul. He was actually really cute but I don't like him that way. I tried remembering the song Paul wrote but I couldn't. I really wanted to play it at the moment. Maybe I'll asks him next time I see him.
I slowly fell asleep on my bed with my guitar on my lap.
