It was nearing Christmas and I was very excited. This would be the second year I would spend Christmas in England.

I have gotten everyone's presents with a few exceptions. I was planning on going shopping next week because I was completely broke at the moment.

I worked extra shifts at the café and made a little more money from tips. On my free time I spent watching television, playing guitar, and eating whatever I could scavenge from the pantry.

Lately I have been getting into a new book. It was a mystery story led by the ever so great, Sherlock Holmes. It was a fantastic story. I find it very amusing how he deciphers clues and answers the unanswerable questions so quickly the way he does.

I had immersed myself in the book and was currently reading how Sherlock and his clever companion, John Wattson, are trying to get out of a tough situation when there was a knock on the door.

Being the lazy person the I am I shouted, "IT'S OPEN." I heard the door open, then close. Kaithlyn came into view by standing at the foot of the couch.

"Is this wha' you've been up to all break?" she asked.

"Don't just say it like that. You make it sound so boring and pathetic. Sherlock needs me. He needs me to finish the book and solve the mystery!"

"Ye are a mystery," she laughed.

"Hey!"

"Relax. I only came to tell ye abou' the party."

"What party?"

"Remember? The one Ivan was throwing?"

I searched my brain for a bell to ring until it finally does. "Oh, right. That party."

"Yer still comin', right?"

"Yeah, probably."

"Great."

"So," I mentioned her to continue with my hand.

"So what?"

"What did you have to tell me about the party?"

It looked like a bulb suddenly clicked on in her head. "Oh, right! It's tomorrow so ye have enough time to finish yer book and do whatever it is ye do, all right?"

"Right."

She pointed towards door and said, "Well, I have to go. Bye."

"Adios!" I guess I have plans for tomorrow.

Paul had picked me up that evening. It was extremely cold out this particular night. It was only six o'clock which is a little early for most of everyone's parties.

When we have arrived, Paul had just sauntered off when I wasn't looking. I thought that was a bit odd, but I just let him go. He can't stay by my side all night, right?

There weren't many people here that I knew. Most of them were in John's grade but there were a few kids I noticed from class.

I saw John, Pete, and Stu laughing with a smug smile on each of their face's as they all left the house. Only God knows what they're doing.

Kaithlyn and Veronica were in a corner talking and dancing to the record playing throughout the house.

I started walking towards them when I hit George. "I'm sorry! I didn't see you there. Here let me get you cleaned up."

I spilled whatever was in his cup all over his shirt. I took him to the nearest bathroom and found a towel. I wet it a little with water from the sink and gave him the towel. "Here. I'll be right back."
