I didn't want to go out. I hadn't left my room since last night. I wrapped myself in a blanket and wouldn't let my mother in my room. I was a little burrito of sadness.
I had to choose one. Or did I? I could just not pick either and end up not marring at all and live with 30 cats. I sigh. I take everything way too seriously.
I just don't want to face either of them until I know what to say to them. Plus, Paul doesn't even know. How should I let him know? He obviously likes me a lot, it will break his heart.
But what of I pick Paul? How will I tell George? He would be devastated too. He cares a lot about me, as well. But what was it he wanted to explain? I never let people finish what they're saying.
Ugh, it was all just so confusing. Why does it have to be so hard not to brake someone's heart, so you could be satisfied with yourself? Life just isn't fair.
I didn't want to spend the rest of the day pouting. There are better things to do. Besides, I have to go to work.
I changed first. I grabbed my heavy jacket and radio, it often gets boring, so I play it while I work. It makes life a little easier.

I went to go talk to Mr. Nielson.
"Hi, Mr. Nielson."
"Julia, please, call me Richard." He smiled warmly.
"All right, Richard," I say, " I was wondering if I could work an extra shift tonight? I could really use the money and I'm always glad to help."
"O' Course ye can! I could always use some help 'round 'ere. If ye work an extra shift, I'll pay ye double." His offer was tempting.
"Then we have a deal. Two extra shifts it is."
"Excellent. It makes me proud to see young kids take on extra work," he says. That makes me feel good.
I walk up to a man in a fedora and a briefcase. "Hello, Sir, I am your waitress Julia. May I take your order?"
As more people came in for lunch, the more busy I was with orders. I danced a bit with the music playing on my radio. People started to go in the middle of the café. The men twirled the girls so many times I got dizzy just looking at them. I turned up the volume and more people looked towards the center.
People came in wondering what all the commotion was about. Soon, business was busier than ever. Even Mr. Nielson was dancing. A boy pulled me in to dance with him.
He spun me around just the other girls. I didn't have a skirt to make a cool patterns, but my apron was just fine.
As everyone grew tired, I was back to just taking orders. It was really fun, dancing.

It was really dark out, and my second shift was almost over. There was only two people in the café at this point. The one man I was serving looked to be about John's age. Maybe a little younger. He ordered beer after beer after beer.
I was a little worried. I didn't want him to go out and do something completely stupid. He was really drunk; he slurred his words when he ordered another.
I noticed every time I went to give him his beer, he would check me out. His eyes would go up and down my body, making me feel invaded. I didn't like it.
