I walked home confident thanks to Paul. I just want to explain to George what happened because I wanted everything back to normal.
I went to my room and started to strum my guitar. I practiced the chords Paul taught me but I messed up a lot. I kept practicing though because I wanted to be good like him. No matter how horrible I am.
I grabbed the box of cookies that I left on my nightstand and put my hand in to grab a cookie. I pulled it my hand out but there was no cookie. I frowned. I heard my stomach grumble so I went to get yet another snack.
"No more snacks for you. I'm almost done with dinner." she called as she stirred something in a pot. "Fine" I pouted. She laughed. "I swear that you could eat a whole horse." "You know me so well" I laughed along with her.
"So is everything fine?"
"Yeah. Just a few problems that I have to fix."
"Good."
I looked at the pantry longing for a bit of crackers or fruit. I guess my mother noticed. "Dinner is almost ready."
What felt like forever she said the words that I was waiting for. "Dinners ready."
"Finally"

The next day I was ready to talk to George.
I walked to school and on the way there Kaithlyn caught up with me.
"Hey, wait up" she called. I turned around and smiled. "Are you okay from yesterday?" I nodded my head. "Yeah. I went to Paul's yesterday and he told me a way to talk to George." I explained.
"Good. I don't like it when my friend is sad." I smiled. It felt good to know you have someone to care for you.

In class it couldn't get anymore awkward. We were supposed to work in partners to solve problems.
We didn't talk at all. We said at least to words to each other telling the answer because the teacher yelled at us for not collaborating. It was the longest class I have ever been in.
After class I sat at lunch with Kaithlyn and we just talked about Elvis, clothes and other girly things.
I almost forgot about George. Until Kaithlyn brought up the subject. "So how are you going to do it?"
"Do what?"
"You know, talk to George"
"Well, um, I'm going to try to get him someplace private and just explain what happened. Maybe he'll listen." I told her Paul's idea. "It was Paul's idea."
"Oh well, good luck" she smiled at me.
"Thanks"

I went over to George's house ready to explain the whole thing. I knocked on the door and waited patiently. I heard footsteps and the door opened.
George stood there and looked surprised to see me but he also looked a little sad. "George, I need to talk you" I told him looking down at my feet.
"No, Julia, I need to talk to you" he said. I looked up at him. "I know I got jealous, and you probably hate me for being rude and ignoring you but I'm sorry." he said rubbing the back of his neck. "I just really like you"
"I forgive you. I like you a lot too and I could never stay mad at you" I told him happy at how easily this worked out. George gave me a hug and I hugged him back.
He looked at me and then at my lips. I did the same. He pulled my hair out of my face and kissed me. I kissed back and put my arms around his neck.
He put his arms around my waist and pulled me closer to him closing the gap between us.
He pulled out of the kiss and smiled. I love his smile. It always makes my stomach flutter with butterflies and and it makes me smile too.
"I know it seems kind of sudden, but will you be my girlfriend?" he asked me. I smiled.
"If you want me to I will"
He smiled again and kissed me.
I didn't want to leave his arms. He put his hands on my cheeks deepening the kiss.
"This worked out better than I expected." I smiled. He laughed. "I missed you. Even if we were apart for only a day"
I hugged him again. "I missed you too" I whispered in his ear.
