Y/N's POV:
I can't take my eyes off of the clock as I lie away in bed, wishing it would read 11:30pm already. It was only 11:15 and my parents went to bed fifteen minutes ago. Brett and I agreed to sneak out and leave the house at 11:30 and meet at Devenford Prep's lacrosse field.
If I drive fast, that would mean I'd get there quicker and we could see each other for a few extra minutes, I thought to myself. But if I drive slowly it would be less time. The less time, the less painful it'll be right? Ugh, I sighed. Why do they call it goodbye when there's nothing good about saying bye?
Satomi, Brett's pack leader, had decided to move her pack to Chicago, literally across the country from Scott's pack and me. Since the dead pool situation has been handled, Satomi believed it would be best to move before another crazy supernatural problem happens. She wants her pack safe and away from the city that lures dangerous supernatural creatures.
The next fifteen minutes where the longest fifteen minutes of my life. As soon as the clock turned 11:30pm, I pulled off the covers, clothes already on, and grabbed my keys from the top of my drawer. Already dressed to go, I climbed out the window, down the tree, and walked down the driveway to my car. It took me from climbing out my room to getting to the car to decide to speed. I hope Sheriff Stilinski or Deputy Parrish doesn't pull me over.
It was way past my bedtime, and the night sky was darker than usual with the sky filled with gray clouds. I pulled my car up to the parking lot, and didn't care to park between the lines or lock the car. I quickly got out and ran to the lacrosse field to meet Brett.
There he was in the middle of the field, looking so tall and handsome as hell. People always judge him as a bad boy because he looks like one, and the truth is, he is, and he does it so well. Isn't that what every girl wants? A bad boy of her own?
I walked up to him and locked my eyes with his. I can see the ending before it begins.
As I stood in front of him, his eyes were sparkling with eagerness. "Let's get out of this town." He whispered as he laced his fingers with mine. He pulled me forward, leaning his forehead against mine, and our noses touching. "Let's drive out of the city, away from everything that's pulling us apart." His warm breath hitting my lips. His hands slid out of my hands and moved into my hair. "No one has to know what we do."
Our faces are inches apart, and all I want to do is live in this moment before it becomes a memory; his icy blue eyes, his cute narrow nose, oval lips, the magical feeling he gives me every time he looks into my eyes, and the warmth every time our skin touch.
I feel it, every bone, every muscle, in my body is telling me 'this is going to take you down and break you apart'. I don't want him to go, and I want to go with him, but we can't. We can't abandon our packs. We can't run away together at 15. We're too young and we know nothing lasts forever, no matter how badly we want it too. Fate is inevitable. No matter how hard you try to change it by changing your decisions, you can't change fate's course. Destiny will find it's way back to fate as it was meant to be, and right now fate is pulling us apart.
He looked into my eyes and suddenly his smile faded. He knew I wouldn't run away with him because I couldn't. We couldn't. We wouldn't survived against the world by ourselves, and I hated that he can see it within my eyes. I hated seeing him devastated. I hated seeing his heart breaking right in front of me, and I hate that I'm the one causing it.
A small whimper escapes as a tear drops down my cheek, " Promise me one thing, Brett."
"Anything, babe."
"Say you'll remember me-"
Brett cuts me off. "I'll remember you standing in that cute white sundress, staring at the sunset, babe; with your red lips and rosy cheeks." He pauses for a second. "No matter where we are, how far apart we are, I'll see you again, even if it's in my wildest dreams."
I nodded as more tears fell down my cheeks, and he continued whispering the words I wanted to hear.
Flashback: Brett's POV
The smell of salt roamed in the air, the waves crashed onto the shore, and the seagulls chirped above us. From a distance, we see surfers riding out the waves, and sandcastles near us. The sunset was beginning to set with different shades of pink, orange, and yellow across the baby blue sky.
I sat down on the cold sand, and placed my arm on my bent knee. Y/N holds down the lower half of her white dress to prevent the wind from flying up as she sat in between my legs. She took off my flip-flops, placed them next to me, and then leaned into my arm and knee. I immediately wrapped my other arm around her.
She put her warm hands on my forearm, and I look down at her, whose eyes are directed to the sun drowning into the horizon. She was absolutely breathtaking. The way her eyes sparkled with the sunset colors, her small nose tanned, her cheeks looking rosy, and her full lips in a dangerous shade of red lipstick. I couldn't believe I was lucky enough to call her mine.
"Y/N..."
She hummed as she looked up. I lock my eyes with her. "I love you."
Her red bold lips turned into a wide smile, showing off her perfect whites. She slid her hand behind my neck and pulled me forward for a quick kiss. Before our lips met, she whispered, "I love you too, Brett."
Y/N's POV:
With my head in between his hands, I close in the space and crash my lips with his. His lips are salty and wet from my tears. I place a hand behind his neck while the other one runs through his hair. His hands were on my hips, pulling me against his body before he slid them down to my butt and lifted me up. I wrapped my legs around his hips as he deepens the kiss, making my insides melt.
Rain drops start to fall, dampening our clothes. We both pull away, breathing heavily. I unfold my legs and wrap my arms tight around his neck as he wraps his arms around my waist. I bury my face at the crook of his neck, and smell his cologne mixing with the scent of fresh rain. We stood in the light rain for what seemed like hours when it was only a few minutes.
He puts his hands on my cheeks again, making me look into his eyes. He wipes away the black stained tears with his thumbs, and leans his forehead to mine. "In your wildest dreams."
With my hands resting on his hips, I repeated, "In my wildest dreams."
Thirty minutes later:
I walked into my room to see his lacrosse hoodie on top of my desk chair and his practice shirt on my bed. The shirt he lent me one time when I slept over at his house, and then gave it to me because he loved the way I looked in it. I took off my soaked shirt and put his on. I grabbed the hoodie and wrapped it in my arms as I curled into fetal position on my bed. I smell his scent and hear his familiar voice as the wind blows in from my open window, and remember every moment with him. These memories will follow me around. I close my eyes, slowly and surely I see him in my dreams.
