Since birth, Y/N grew up with Liam and Mason; together they were the three musketeers. They told each other secrets, asked for advice, and hung out all the time. They all lived in the same neighborhood, went to the same elementary and middle school. When high school rolled around, Liam attended a private school, Devenford Prep. Y/N and Mason didn't like that Liam was separated from them, but the three remained close. Y/N and Mason attended Liam's lacrosse games to show support and that's where Y/N met Brett.
Their first meeting was brief. She had accidently bumped into him on the way to the bleachers. They exchanged smiles as they both apologized repeatedly before heading their separate ways. Just a week after Liam got kicked out of Devenford Prep and transferred to Beacon Hills High School, Y/N ran into Brett again at the local drugstore and recognized each other. They talked and flirted in the middle of the candy aisle. Before she knew it, he asked her out on a date. She thought nothing bad could come from this. He was really cute, funny, and charming. When they exchanged numbers and saw his name on her phone, Y/N realized exactly who he was. He was Liam's nemesis.
The same day, she told Liam everything, hoping he would be okay with it. He wasn't at first but he saw how much she really liked him. He set aside his hatred towards Brett for her. Y/N was his best friend and he wanted nothing more than for her to be happy. He didn't trust Brett, but he was willing to give him a shot. She agreed Liam could kick his ass if Brett ever hurt her. Sure, Brett and Liam weren't exactly friends, but they had somewhat of an understanding, as Y/N was their number one girl in their lives, along with Mason.
Y/N and Brett have been dating for eight months now and things are better than when they first started dating, but there were still issues with the three men in her life. She had to make arrangements and plan ahead to hang out with Liam and Mason, and dates with Brett. She made sure her time, plans, and get-togethers didn't collide or interfere between the three. So far it had been working, but sometimes there were moments when it wasn't working for one of them, and today Brett was about to hit his breaking point.
As soon as the final bell rang, Y/N's phone started vibrating in the back pocket of her denim skirt. A big smile formed on her heart shaped face as soon as she saw the photo of her boyfriend on her screen and touched the green button to accept the call.
"Hey you," she said as she walked out of the building. "Are you here yet?"
"The bus just pulled up five minutes ago, and I snuck out before coach would notice, but I don't have much time," his voice rushed through the phone. "Where are you, baby?"
"I'm walking towards the gym," she took a turn around the building and immediately saw him waiting in front of the gym building, his back was facing her. "Turn around."
Brett turned around and his lips tugged a smile the second his eyes landed on her. They both rushed towards each other. Brett's duffle bag slung over his shoulder, the strap across his chest, and the bag hitting the side of his leg with every step he took. She tightened her grip on her book bag to prevent it from slipping off her shoulder as she jogged towards him. They both zig zagged between students, trying not to bump into anyone in their path.
Brett opened up his arms as Y/N jumped into his embrace with her arms wrapped around his neck. "I missed you so much," she said in between kissing him all over his face.
He chuckled, "Baby, I saw you last night."
"That's too long," She kissed him on the lips as he tightened his arms around her waist, pushing her against him.
"Ugh, they make me sick," they pulled away from each other at the sound of Mason's annoyed voice. They turned around to see Liam and Mason standing in front of them.
