The sun was coming up through the window when I woke up. I flickered my eyes open, but didn't move the rest of my body in order not to wake up Steve. His legs were tangled between mine and his arms were still clinging to mine from when I fell asleep hugging him last night. I closed my eyes and rested my head on his, feeling his peaceful, serene nature calm me. I lifted my hand from underneath his and pushed the hair out of his face to behind his ear. He started moving slightly causing the shaking to return. I wrapped my arm back around him and held him up against my warm body which was actually hot under all these blankets.
I have to admit, last night was cold, but I wasn't nearly as bothered by it than he was.
I watched as his eyes started flickering open, revealing his soft blue eyes behind a strand of blonde hair. I stayed quiet behind him as if I was still sleeping. He took a breath and looked at my arms and then at his, causing a small smile to creep up on his face. I felt him curl up and slide his head into my shoulder, holding tighter onto my arm. I slowly lifted my head up and leaned over behind his ear.
"Hey Steve." I whispered.
He let go of my arm in shock and stuttered as he tried to undo our mess.
"I uh...Buck...I didn't know you were up..."
"Steve relax it's okay." I whispered back as he allowed me to pull him back in.
"How long have you been awake?"
"Longer than you."
"Yeah I kinda figured that out." He retorted.
I closed my eyes and smiled.
"Are you feeling any better?" I mumbled.
"Actually... yes."
"Really?"
"Yeah." He whispered.
"Do you feel like trying to do something today, like a walk or something little?"
He smiled.
"I think I could do that."
"Is your mom going to kill me for taking you outside?"
"Doubt it, she loves you. Besides I'm willing to take the chance. If you haven't noticed I've been in bed confinement all week."
"Yeah I know, I've been in Steve's room confinement all week."
"You could've left." He whispered.
I brushed my face in his hair and held him closer to me.
"Never crossed my mind."
Then the room was filled with silence for what seemed like hours as each minute Steve still held on to me. I feared letting go, but I knew if I didn't we would stay in this bed all day and do absolutely nothing, which would not help him at all. I pulled my arm out from underneath him and pushed myself up with it. Steve rolled over to look at me with disappointment, as I started sitting up on the side of the bed.
"No... Bucky..." He whined, pathetically trying to get me to stay.
"Come on Stevie... We have to get up."
