A/N ok so u ALMOST went to bed without updating but then I felt kind if bad because of the cliffhanger. So, here we go

Carter's POV

I ride deeper into the forest, and hear a frantic whinnying. 'Ezhno,' I think.

I urge Chester into a gallop, and breathe a sigh of relief when I see Ezhno. I squint my eyes, trying to make out Taylor, but she is no where to be seen.

My heart stops, as I frantically call out her name. No answer.

I jump off of Chester, and tie Ezhno to my saddle horn. Then I search the water that is rapidly rising, almost up to my shoulders.

"Taylor," I call out. I repeat it over and over, but she's gone. Oh my gosh, what if she's dead? Oh god, please- and I see something. Just a flash of chocolate brown hair surfacing, but it's gone as soon as it appeared. I dive down where I saw it, my eyes wide open. The water is murky, but I see a foot, or maybe a hand, in the water ahead of me. The rushing current pulls it away, and I use all of my strength and energy to push onward. I reach my hand out, and grip on to something- a hand.

I pull Taylor to the surface, but I've reached a deep part of the water and I can't find footing. With one arm, I hold her above water, and with all of my energy I swim towards the shallower water where Chester and Ezhno are.

The current pulls me in the opposite direction, but I persevere. I struggle to hang on to Taylor and to save myself, but somehow find the strength. After what seems like an eternity, I make it to my horse.

I set Taylor's unconscious body on Chester, and then climb on behind her.

"Chester, go home," I command. He trudges through the water, pulling Ezhno behind him. Ezhno follows mindlessly, too petrified to think.

Because I know that Chester can find home quickly, I hook the reigns over the saddle horn, and try to wake Taylor.

Taylor's POV

Am I dead?

No, if I were dead, I wouldn't be in pain. My lungs are burning, as if on fire. My eyes crack open, and I instantly sit up, coughing up water.

How am I possibly alive?

"Carter," I whisper, my voice hoarse and almost nonexistent.

A/N sorry for the lame ending. And thanks for reading =]. Comment and vote! Goodnight my lovelies.
