Taylor's POV
[for the record, there probably won't be anymore of Carter's POV. Anyways, on with the story]
"Taylor, oh my god, are you okay," Carter shakily asks.
"Yeah. I'm fine. I'm kind of thirsty though," I croak. My throat feels raw, and I want more than anything for a glass of water.
"Where are we?" I ask. My vision is a little blurry, but I can see wood, and I think I'm sitting on grass. But that doesn't make sense because the fields are flooded.
"We're in the barn," he replies. My eyes start to focus, and I realize that I'm on the floor, leaning against a stall door.
I think back to what happened, and start to panic.
"Ezhno, where's Ezhno," I hysterically say, trying to jump up, but I get dizzy and fall backwards again.
"Calm down. Don't worry I brought him back. He's in his stall," he assures me.
I breath a sigh of relief. "Carter, you know I can't stay, right. I have to leave after the storm passes," I whisper, averting his gaze.
"No you don't. You... you could stay in the barn attic, I could bring you food and take care of Ezhno. My parents would never know," he hastily plans, but even he knows it won't work.
"Carter, I have to go," I repeat.
"Well still, it wasn't right of you to leave without saying anything. And leaving Beau? You're his person, you know that was wrong."
"I know, I was wrong. But I thought that... if I would have told you face to face, I would have changed my mind. And I love Beau, but when he gets bigger, I can't carry him on Ezhno's back anymore. I have to leave him here- you'll take care of him, won't you." Tears are blotting my vision, and I quickly wipe them away, hoping Carter doesn't see.
"Yeah, I'll take care of him. Promise," he mutters.
I lean up and give him a hug. We sit there like that for a while, and before we break apart, I tearfully whisper, "Thank you so much Carter, for everything."
A/N ok this book is ALMOST over, and I might make a sequel. Tell me if you want one.
