Shelby

I awoke to a rather loud sound.

Some nurses walked into my room with their special equipment.

3 of them sat down and prepared whatever it is that they had.

My nurse walked over to talk to me. "We are going to give you an Ultra Sound now."

"Okay."

I felt a really cold liquid over my small stomach.

I wasn't fit, or at least I don't think I am, I just have a fast metabolism.

I looked at the ceiling while the weird thing went over my stomach.

"How did we not see this before?" One nurse murmured.

"Nancy, get her files. We need to add something."

"What do you need to add?" I asked. "What is it?"

The nurses ignoring me, I looked up at the screen.

There was something there.

But what?

I asked again. "What's happening?"

"Ms. Grace, keeping information private with your life that could affect your visit here is bad." My nurse said.

"What is it? What did I not say?" I said panicking. "I told you everything I knew or know."

"Maybe she doesn't know." One nurse said.

"But how could she not know?"

"Yeah. It's kind of a big thing."

"Will someone tell me what's going on?" I asked.

"Ms. Grace," My nurse started to say. "I don't know how to say this."

"Well just tell me then. " I nodded reassuringly. Mainly for myself. "I can take it."

"Shelby, you're pregnant."

What.

The.

Actual.

HECK.

"What? How? When did I...? How did I...?" I trailed off.

"From the looks of it, you're a couple weeks along. Maybe a month." My nurse said.

"Oh. Can I..." I trailed off.

She nodded understandingly but started talking again. "We just have to finish looking, but after that we are done."

I nodded.

What will I do?

Who did I do?

I smiled, but it quickly turned into a frown.

No time for that, Shelby.

You have a thing growing inside of you.

A person.

A living being.

I should probably call someone here.

Maybe I should call Liz, Sasha, and Addie over.

That sounds about right.

My brain started hurting from thinking to much.

Who is the father?

I haven't had sex since, like, six months or so before I broke up with Tyler.

I shook out of my thoughts when I felt a towel wiping at my stomach.

"Take care." My nurse said.

"Thanks." I said softly.

I grabbed my cell phone and called Addie.

She picked up after the first ring.

"Hello?"

"Hi. Big news." I said.

"What? What is it?"

"I can't tell you over the phone. But can you get the other two girls? I really need to tell you something."

"Okay. We'll be there soon."

"Bye." I said softly and hung up.

I'm going to tell them.

I'm going to tell them everything.
