2 MORE CHAPTERS AHHHH

Shelby

I ran outside to see Tyler and a car.

Tyler had only one leg.

I was speechless.

His leg was attached to the tire of the car.

The car was driving away.

I ran up to Tyler.

He had no pulse on his wrist.

But his heart was still beating.

I screamed.

I didn't love him, but he still could be the father of my children.

I took my cardigan off and tied it against where his leg used to be.

I grabbed my phone and called 911. (U.S. Police number)

"Hello what's your emergency?"

"Help. Please. My friend got ran over, his leg is gone. The car drove left and his leg was stuck on the tire. He doesn't have a pulse on his wrist, but his heart's still beating."

"First, what street are you on?"

"I'm on *insert street here*. Please help him."

"Okay. First give him CPR. Do you know how?"

"Yes."

I was so happy that I took a class in high school.

I pressed my wrist against the bone on his chest.

I put my right hand on top of my left and repeatedly pressed down.

"Ma'am, we have people coming that way. Is anyone else there?" The lady told me.

My phone was on the ground and was on speaker phone.

I looked up while pressing down.

"No one else is outside near me. But I have friends inside, but I'd have to hang up to call them out here."

"Okay, check his pulse now. Is he breathing?"

I pressed my ear against his chest.

I waited a few seconds.

I heard a heartbeat.

There's still a pulse, but it's very faint.

"There's a pulse." I said.

"Good. Now is he breathing?"

I put the back of my hand near his nose.

Nothing.

"No. There's not a breath."

"Okay. The ambulance should be there soon- if not now." She said.

I raised his head and using the palm of my hand, I tilted his head back to clear his airway.

Still nothing.

I heard a distant siren.

That better haul everyone outside.

I started to pump his chest again.

The ambulance was now here.

I now notices that the lady on the phone hung up.

I guess she heard the sirens and figured that it was okay.

But he wasn't okay.

I checked his pulse.

It was gone.
