Chapter 27

Shelby

I woke up in a rush.

"Shelby! You're awake!" Liz said.

"Yeah, what happened?"

"I just called you in here to talk and you passed out on the bed. Are you feeling okay?"

"Yeah, probably just tired. When are we leaving for dinner?"

"An hour and a half." Liz informed me.

"Okay. I'm going to take a shower. Where's the bathroom?"

"Down the steps, straight, third door on the left."

"Thanks." 

***DINNER TIME***

Ross held the door for everyone while we walked into the restaurant.

"Table for 12, please." Adam asked.

"Yes sir. Right this way." the host said. (thanks for the word) :)

Max squeezed my hand. "Do you think they have corn dogs?"

I giggled. "No. This is a kind of sophisticated restaurant. I doubt they have time for your 'corn dogs'."

Max gasped. "How dare you! Corn dogs are very sophisticated."

I giggled again. "Says the person who would get corn dogs at a fancy restaurant."

"Offensive!" Max whisper yelled.

Max let go of my hand and pulled out a chair for me. 

"Thank you, kind sir." I said bowing.

"No problem." Max said in a funny voice sitting down next to me.

I giggled.

Max was on my right, and Tim was on my left.

A waitress handed us all menus. "Could I get you all anything to drink?"

I got a Shirley Temple.

After ordering our drinks, we looked through the menus for food and I heard Max gasp.

"Max? Is something happening?"

"There's. Corn. Dogs." His smile beamed.

I laughed. "No way." I leaned over to look at his menu. "Where?"

He pointed to his menu. "Right here at the kids menu."

"There's a kids menu?" I asked. "Where?"

"Last page. Here, take my menu, I already know what I want."

"Let me guess. Is it corn dogs?" I took his menu.

"How did you know?"

I smiled.

I was looking through the kids menu when my eyes landed on what my stomach wanted ever so badly.

MAC. AND. CHEESE.

I smiled and closed the menu.

"What are you getting, Shelby?"

"I'm getting mac and cheese." I said.

"OO! There's mac and cheese?" Max asked.

"Yeah. I'll give you some if I get a corndog."

"Deal." 

The waitress came back with our drinks. "Are you all ready to order your food?"

We placed our order and she left.

"Alright, guys." Adam said. "Here's the plan for the 2 weeks. Tomorrow, we will go to Gulf World Marine Park and Shipwrecked. Tuesday, we will go to Emerald Falls Recreation Center..."

After telling us what we were doing, our food came out.

He was talking for a while.

I smiled and stole a corn dog from Max, while he ate some Mac and Cheese from my plate.
