"What happened?" I asked.

"We've had a breakthrough."

"With the poison?"

"With the poison." My nurse replied.

"What is it?" I asked.

"The poison didn't give you the amnesia, it cured your amnesia."

"It did what now?" I felt the curiosity killing me.

"Someone inserted the needle into the top of your spine."

"Can't that kill me?"

"If you're not careful. Which means that whoever did this knew what they were doing."

"Did you learn anything else?"

"Yes. The poison, or actually antidote, was injected in from your spine and it 'hijacked' some of your brain cells and rode into your brain. It cured you, but the poison is still there. When did you say you got your memory back?" She asked me as I was being pushed into the ICU to get an X-Ray.

"Maybe a couple days ago. I told my doctor the day I got it, but I woke up with my memory."

"Okay. We'll check back with you once we have finished this." I nodded and felt myself get more tired by the minute.

I woke up in my hospital bed.

I saw a red head looking out the window in my room.

"Did something happen?"

He turned around.

It was Max.

"Listen, I know you don't know me or anything but I just want you to know that I like you. A lot. And after you get out of the hospital, I hope that we can be friends."

I nodded. It was so hard not to tell him. Right there and then.

"I hope we can be friends too."

But we can't.

Not unless I tell him I have my memory back.

And that's never happening.

I love you, but I need you to be safe.

Safe from whomever is doing this to me.

I love you.

I love you enough to let you go.

And I'm sorry that I have to do this.
