A few days later...

Shelby

"Shelby, Shelby. Wake up." I looked up to see Max.

"Max. What are you doing in here?"

"I'm going to take you on a private tour of the beach."

"If that's a sex analogy, I'm out." I said groggily.

Max laughed. "No, Adam said that today is a girls day and a guys day so we won't be spending time together so I want to do that now."

"Later." I said. "I'm too tired."

Max groaned. "I didn't want to have to do this, but-"

Max picked me up and walked down the stairs.

I screamed. "Let me down!"

"People are sleeping."

"Then let me down!"

"Nope." Max said popping the 'p'. (if one of yall take that the wrong way i will find you and destroy all of your otps)

Eventually, I gave up.

We were heading outside, but it wasn't bright out.

"Why is it so cold?" I asked.

"Because it's 5:30 in the morning."

"WHAT THE F-"

"I thought we could watch the sunrise together." Max let me down carefully on the sand.

"Awe, that's so sweet." I smiled.

Max smiled as well.

"But no. I'm going back inside to sleep." I said standing up.

"No, you're not." Max said.

"Fine." I sat back down. "When is it supposed to rise?"

"In like 5 minutes." Max said.

"But it's so cold." I said.

"Here."

I looked up to see Max opening his arms.

I leaned into him, hoping that I was going to get warm.

After a few minutes, Max nudged me and I looked up.

"Woah." I said.

There was a pinkish orange glowing in the sky, and the sun was barely visible, but it was there.

"Shelby?" Max turned to me

"Yes?" I kept looking at the sunrise.

"I love you."

I turned to him. "I love you, too."

After that, Max tackled me to the ground and started kissing me.

I giggled.

Then, I just realized. That was the first time we said that we loved each other.

Granted, I felt that way for a long time, but I never had the guts to say it.

Once the sun was fully in the sky, Max stood up and carried me back inside.

I was in a fetus position and Max put me on the couch. "I'll make you breakfast. Pancakes sound okay?"

I nodded.

Max walked over towards the kitchen.

"Hey, Max." It was Red.

"Hey, Red." Max said. "What's up?"

"If I was going to do a romantic gesture, what could I do while we are at Florida?"

"Um, I guess it depends. Who is it?" I heard Max say.

"It's Addie. She's just so kind and funny and her eyes! One is blue and one is green. And not to mention beautiful. And I think I like her."

"Well, it doesn't sound like you 'think' you know. I think you really do like her."

"What do I do?! I'm desperate."

"I don't know. You might need a girl's point of view on this."

I popped my head over the couch. "I'm a girl. I have a point of view."

"When did you get here?"

"I've been here for a while. Now sit." I patted the seat next to me. "We're going to decide on what you're going to do for Addie."

***

It was time. I was watching my plan go to work.

It was only 8, and no one else was up, to our knowledge.

Red was on the beach, which was according to plan, and sat down looking at the ocean.

Max was sitting on the bar stool eating pancakes with me.

Addie walked downstairs.

Addie is known for her ability to wake up everyday at the same time.

It's crazy.

I turned my head to face her. "Hey, Addie."

"Hey." She said. "I need both of your guy's help."

"With what? What's wrong?" I asked.

"You have to promise not to tell anyone, got it?"

We both nodded.

"I need help getting Red to ask me out."

I looked at Max.

"I'm not sexist or anything, I just don't want to ask him out, I want him to ask me."

"Why the sudden interest of Red?" I asked.

"I had a dream about him."

Max smiled.

I turned to smack him.

"I- we won't ask about that, but I think Red went down to the beach earlier."

"Okay, I'll head down there and be hot." Addie said.

I laughed.

"That was pretty ironic." I said.

"But not as pretty as you."

I laughed. "You just had to do that, didn't you."

"Yup."

Once we knew Addie was gone, we both scrambled (eggs) to get to the deck to watch what was happening.

Max got there first, so I ended up just sitting on his lap.

When Addie got there, we both watched intensely.

Red was sitting on the beach tossing sand, and Addie sat down next to him, resting her head on his shoulder.

We couldn't hear what was happening, but Red got up and helped Addie up after him.

I think it worked.

Red and Addie were visibly laughing and were holding hands.

They were walking back over here.

I turned to Max. "It worked!" I whispered.

"There walking back, we need to get back to where we were."

I stood up and ran back inside, sitting on my chair.

Max got there last, but just in time.

"Sup, guys." Red said.

Those were the key words to say if it worked.

I smiled and so did Max.

"Hey, Red."

Max started talking. "We're going to head down to my room, so see you all later."

I turned my head to glare at him.

But, not wanting to disturb them, I followed Max downstairs into his room.
