Diggie's POV

Today Maddie and I go out. I still wanna buy this necklace she showed me in this jewelry store a couple days ago. I said Maddie, I'm going to the fitness so she does not guess anything.

I'm on my way to the mall right now and just got out the car. After I got in the store I went to the cushier again. "Already here again?" the cushier asked. He must've recognized me. "Working again?" I asked back copying him a little. He chuckled and typed something in his computer. "I suppose you came for that necklace you asked for a few days ago" he said. "Yea how did you know?" I asked. "Well, you came and asked me how much it costs and the young lady you were with admired it so I just guessed" he answered. "Well, yea I was about to buy it" I replied. He walked to the vitrine to get out the necklace while mumbling something I couldn't hear. "Here it is, something else?" he asked. "Thank you, no actually not" I said. The cushier practically stared at me for a long time as he said, "Well, I wasn't going to do this but you seem nice and you guys look like a happy young couple".

I was really confused at his words. He walked off to behind the counter and again mumbled something I could barely understand. He came back with two rings, they were really simple yet beautiful. One had a diamond on it, and the other one was still similar but a little more masculine. "These are promise rings. Me and my wife used to always wear them before we got married. We never took them off. I give them to you for free" he said. "This is really nice of you and they're beautiful but I can't except them" I replied. "No please take it. My wife used to love them, she's dead by now. And besides, if I would keep them, I would just keep thinking about her all the time. It'll be good for me to not have them around me" the cushier said. "I'm so sorry about your loss. Thank you so much" I said. He just nodded. "I like you boy. I want to give you discount. And not because you seem nice, but you took my rings. It will be $400" he said. I smiled a little at how nice this man is. I took out my wallet and payed. "Thank you so much again, I really appreciate it!" I said.

"Are you kidding? I thank you for taking those away from me!" the man said. I said goodbye and walked out of the jewelry store. As soon as I got in my car I drove off. On my way back, I stopped at a flower shop and bought some white roses because I know Maddie likes them the best. I got home as soon as possible and got ready for the evening.

I know it's short but I wanted it to be like that.
