Gone with the Wind

You were a leaf blown

From the umber maple tree

To the hazel ground.

-

Your shade was of red

With glints of golden highlights,

The streak I adored.

-

Suddenly, a wind

Picked you up before I do.

I saw you flying.

-

I'd been chasing you.

But you still kept on running,

Running to the wind.

-

When I'm so tired,

I realize you are no more,

But gone with the wind.

A/N: Do you like this poem so far? Few minutes ago, I read "Lost and (Never) Found" from Poems of Mine by nickles15. I have heard of many people liking her poems, but I haven't read any of her poems until now. Her poems are wonderful, so why not read hers? I got the title from the novel Gone with the Wind. So comment, vote, and share this poem. Over and out.
