Midsummer Memories

Many suns ago,

Our eyes met

In this beach

-

Many suns ago,

We fell for

The word 'love.'

-

Many suns ago,

Sparks defined us

Whenever we kiss.

-

Many suns ago,

We always had

Good times together.

-

But many suns later,

You leave me alone

In the frigid night.

-

Again many suns later,

My emotions are crying

Out loud for you.

-

Again many suns later,

My mind is dying

From your heat waves.

-

Again many suns later,

My memories about you

Still haunts me today.

-

And at last many suns later,

My heart is telling you to

Stop tormenting my broken soul.

-

You were my sunshine then,

But a fire that leaves me scars now.

A/N: Initially, I was going to based in on my most memorable dreams, but that left me stuck until I had to let that go. So I came up with three words: summer, betrayal, and emotions. I also loosely based this poem on "doomed" from Antidote by thirteenhoursofpain. I suggest you to read her poems. So if you like this poem, comment, vote, and share.
