I was once told
That there's a place
Up above the sky.
It was very grandeur,
Grander than anything earthly,
Even any of the Seven Wonders.
The people were clothed in gold,
And their fiery faces
Caught my wanting eyes.
Their wings were coated in silver
And they glowed so brightly
That they made me ponder.
Their wings were very captivating
That I wanted to have them
Even if they meant death.
Then one of the angels
Gave me the wings
I had long to have.
With glee I was flying
To the heavens with them,
Taking away my breath.
And that was when I fell,
Dissipating into nothing
Like the fate Icarus had.
