Have you heard of "Candyland?"
You think this is just in fiction,
But this is really Candyland
In your very own eyes.
Haven for the sweethtooths
And heaven for the candy lovers,
This place has assortments of treats
Beyond your wildest dreams.
Can you imagine
How much fun
If we skate on the ice cream rinks
And sunbathe on the sugary beaches?
Oh it's fun, very fun.
Can you ponder
How fantastic
If we jump on cotton candy clouds
And climb on candy cane trees?
Oh it's fantastic, very fantastic.
But I have something to say
About this sugarcoated place.
This is actually hell for me
Because I'm sick of honeyed words.
This is truly inferno for me
Because I'm sick of sweet lies.
My eyes are exhausted
And long for something salty.
My tongue is tired of this
And wants to taste the truth.
I'm sick of this land
Because the truth is bitter.~~~~~
A/N: Have you guys play the game "Candyland" before? If you haven't play this yet, this is a board racing game that has a theme of candies. This is actually my inspiration to write this poem.
Well, at a meantime, I also read some poems from Bittersweet by DannyCepul. The book itself is revolving around food. I think this book is very fascinating and compelling. I'll recommend you to read his poems.
I also have a prompt for you all. It's all about sweets. This is not a competition, but just a challenge.
If you have a prompt, comment below. If you like this poem, vote by clicking the star. Over and out.
