~ I started writing this oneshot back in September of last year so it's been a long time coming. Believe it or not I am actually quite happy with it (maybe not with the ending), although writing in past tense really isn't one of my strong points (is that what you say? Do you say that? Idk I don't speak english) and there might be some mistakes here and there. Feel free to point those out but please don't be rude about it, I'm a sensitive soul (jk jk fellas, don't worry about me)

Anyway, I just wanted to remind you all that requests are open and yeah :) xx /M ~

[WARNINGS: selfharm is being mentioned multiple times, although not in any way descriptive. The same goes for subjects such as depression and sex (??) ]

We met at a coffee shop in December a few years ago. Back then he was just a boy, hiding his arms under bracelets and long sleeves to make sure the the marks he left on his skin stayed secret. Back then I was just...I was just Luke back then

~

It was snowing that day, Luke remembers that clearly. He remembers because when he closes his eyes he can still see the snowflakes slowly melting into Michael's then dark brown hair. He remembers looking up from his book after hearing the bell over the door chime, just in time to catch a glimpse of those beautiful green eyes he'd later come to love as they scanned the room. He quickly looked down again, hoping the boy hadn't seen him looking, but couldn't keep himself from looking up every now and then, watching as he ordered something and then walked over to an empty table by the window, opening his bag and taking out a sketchpad. Luke then returned to his book, trying his hardest not to look up again and again just to see what the boy was doing, if he was still there, if the snowflakes in his hair had melted yet.

They stayed like that for close to an hour, neither of the boys moving from their seats as people walked in and out, going on with their lives without sparing as much as a glance at the two boys sitting in opposite corners of the small room. And then when Luke looked up, the boy wasn't there anymore. He's not sure why it made his heart sink like it did, after all he'd never even talked to him, all he'd done was watch him, mesmerized by the way his hand moved as he was drawing.

"are you checking me out?" the voice had come from his left and as Luke turned his head, his eyes fell on the boy from across the room, only he weren't actually on the other side of the room anymore.

"N-no" Luke had trouble keeping his voice steady because the boy's eyes were so much more beautiful up close, they seemed deeper in a way, and his lips...Luke hadn't even noticed his lips and he could not understand how that was possible as they had to be the most beautiful lips he'd ever seen, and they still are to this day.

"Oh well..." he suddenly seemed unsure of what to do, almost as if he had expected Luke to admit to checking him out. "Nevermind then" Luke doesn't get a chance to reply before the young man has left the café, exiting Luke's life just as sudden as he'd entered it. Only, it wasn't the "I'll never see him again" kind of exit. But Luke didn't know that at the time.

Christmas came and passed and sometimes, it could be when I was out shopping with my mum or when I was just sitting by my favourite table in the café where we first met, I'd see something out of the corner of my eye, something, or rather someone, I was convinced was him. It wasn't, something I found out when I was stupid enough to ask him about it, and it took weeks before I saw him again.

~

When the young man entered the café there were raindrops in his hair, shining in the light coming from above just as the snowflakes had all those weeks ago. Luke, at first not recognizing him, blushed when the man turned around and their eyes met. He then turned his attention back to his book, trying to focus on the words printed on the white page as he waited for the man to take his seat at the table in the corner across the room.
