“Okay so everyone knows what to say?” weeks of planning has led up to this, weeks and weeks of getting everything they’ll need, months of watching every movie they could about robbing banks. And now the time has come. Calum’s probably the most excited, he’s practically bouncing in the seat. It makes sense, him being the one who came up with the whole idea. After stealing his uncles 44 he had gone straight to Michael, telling him about this idea he had. He said it’d be easy, that all they’d need would be gloves, bags and a couple masks, and, of course, the gun he’d stolen. Michael wasn’t sure about it at first, but when Calum came up with the idea of asking Ashton and Luke as well, he was on board. Ashton was easier to convince, maybe because he’d grown up poor and the thought of that much money made it impossible for him to turn the offer down, maybe because he, just like Calum, thought of himself as a gangster. Luke needed a lot more convincing, but eventually he agreed on driving the getaway car.

Calum picked the bank, the one closest to his home, and they studied every map they could find, trying to find the perfect route away from there once they’d gotten the money. Michael then took it upon himself to find out the bank’s opening hours and the guards routines, getting quite a bit of help from a certain Ashton Irwin, who had discovered that the purple haired youngster was a pretty good company...if you catch my drift.

“This is a robbery so get down on the floor.” Ashton says, nodding. He’d spent many hours learning what to say and when to say it. “we’re here for all that stupid shit that you don’t need no more.”

“We want your money so open that safe.” Michael mumbles, mostly to himself, as he tries to remember what it looks like inside the bank. “get off the phone and don’t try to play hero, if you do as I say you might just make it home.”

“hands up and get down on your knees, face to the ground.” Ashton adds, smiling proudly.

“right, let’s go.” Calum opens the car door and gets out, starting to walk towards the bank with the other two close behind. Luke, who still isn’t completely sure about this whole thing, watches them leave. He knows that walking around with your guns out like that is a bad idea, he notices the cops across the street from where the bank is, and without trying to warn the others he starts the car and drives away, deciding he’s better off on his couch, watching the latest episode of The Walking Dead and having a beer even though it’s only one in the afternoon on a Sunday. When he’s halfway home he realises he probably should have told the others that it’s sunday and that the bank is closed on Sundays, but he figures that they’ve probably thought of that themselves by now so he just continues driving.

He was right, by the time he realised that the others had as well. They had made it to the bank but just as they were about to barge through the doors they realised it was empty. Unfortunately for them, trying to rob a closed bank is just as bad as trying to rob an open bank and the cops across the street didn’t waste any time on trying to decide if they had real guns or not. When he say them coming towards them, Michael dropped his gun, throwing his arms up in surrender. Calum however, he wasn’t going to go down that easy. He started running, one of the cops following him, and Ashton, not knowing any better, did the same. He didn’t get very far though, since he tripped on his shoelaces before he’d even gotten to the corner of the building, and he soon found himself sitting next to Michael on the pavement. They were eventually joined by a very dirty, out of breath Calum, who glared at the cops as he sat down.

“Why do you have a banana peel in your hair?” Ashton asked, turning to Michael when he didn’t get an answer. “Do you think they’ll let us share a cell in jail? If I’m gonna drop the soap I’d rather do it around you than anyone else.”
