~Ashton~
I never let go of her hand.
She looked up at me, barely conscious. I kissed her head softly, holding onto her hand. She smiled slightly, her eyes closing.
"I don't have a pulse."
"Just start CPR damnit, and drive faster." The woman across from me grabbed a clipboard and pen. "Sir, can you tell me what happened?"
"She jumped from the window..." I was still trying to keep my voice under control.
"Can you tell me why?"
I paused for a moment, looking down as I answered.
"Suicide."
I didn't think I would ever have to say those words. I hoped I wouldn't.
"We're here!" A man in front called out.
I followed as they took Yasmin into the building. I was about to go with them through the emergency room when a man stopped me. "I'm sorry sir, you can't come with her beyond this point."
I nodded slowly, walking back into the waiting room. I sat in the back, my head in my hands.
I can't believe it.
I tried forgetting about it.
I can't believe myself.

"Uh, mister Irwin, I have some questions about what happened." A feminine voice came from a short nurse in front of me. I sat up slowly, nodding. She had the clipboard the paramedic had.
"So, can you tell me what happened at that apartment Ashton?"
"I tried stopping her, but she jumped out of the window."
"Why did she do that Ashton?"
"Suicide...like I said before..."
"Did she ever talk about this previous to it happening?"
I nodded slowly.
"Was she depressed?"
I nodded again.
"Do you know of anything else like eating disorders or addictions that may have contributed to this?"
"No..."
"Any questions?"
"Is she going to be okay?"
She hesitated before answering. "We're trying Ashton."
I nodded, slumping back into my chair. She stood up and left, shaking her head.
I was left with my thoughts for the next hour or so, which wasn't a very good thing.
                               ~•~
I shot straight up when they called her name. Another woman with a lab coat was standing in the doorway, holding a chart. She nodded towards me. I felt myself moving towards her.
Once we were by her room, she spoke softly.
"Ashton, I've known Yasmin since, it, happened. I didn't know her parents were doing such awful things. If I'd known she was okay I would've gone to see her. Now, she's pretty shaken up, so please be considerate when we go in."
I nodded, scared of what I might see.
Once she opened the door, I saw my wife laying on the bed.
Her right side was bruised and cut, a bandage going over her forehead. Her eyes were bloodshot, standing out against her pale skin. A handful of needles and bandages were on her body and arms, most of them bruised as well. Her lip was busted and her hands were shaking.
She looked straight at the doctor, speaking in a hoarse voice. "Hello Lynn, w-who is this?" She backed up into the bed slowly, gritting her teeth.
The woman slowly moved towards her, setting the chart down. "Yasmin, it's okay. This is Ashton, you're husband."
I felt like crying after she spoke.
"I don't know a single person named Ashton."
Goddamnit.
The doctor looked at me, then Yasmin. "Yasmin, just think for a minute. He's family of yours."
"The only family I have is Mary and Greg. Please don't let them in either. I don't know this man."
The woman backed up, taking me into the hall.
"She has a pretty bad concussion, and she can't remember anything past her previous fall. Do you know of anything that might trigger her memory?"
I nodded, walking back in. "Yasmin, it's me. Ashton."
"I-I don't know you..."
"Your name is Yasmin Irwin, we're married. We have two children, Eric and Marilyn. Please."
"S-sir, my n-name is Yasmin V-Vogel..."
I thought for a minute, speaking calmly. "We met a few years ago. You tried to kill me. You loved the song amnesia. We kissed in an old house."
She shook her head frantically. "I don't know you..."
Wait. What about this...
"Korosu. That's what you go by.
Your name is Korosu. You love Mario and Vodka and pizza and you glitch a lot and you have the most beautiful smile and your laugh brightens my day and you are absolutely beautiful and your moods change from shy to sarcastic in the funniest way and you look so cool in your torn jeans and lip piercing and then you turn out to be this adorable nerd who giggles in such a cute way and that's the girl I fell in love with."
She looked down, scared out of her mind. "K-Korosu?" She shook her head. "A-aticm...Korosu..."
Thank god.
"Ashton...A-Ashton Irwin..."
I nodded, smiling. "That's me."
She looked up at me. "The man I fell in love with."
I kissed her head, not seeing the doctor anywhere near us.
She sat up, slowly taking the IV out of her arm.
"W-what are you doing Yasmin?"
She did the same thing to the other needles. "I'm getting the hell out of here. Did the doctor ask you about what happened?"
I nodded.
"They're taking me to a mental hospital. Let's get out of here now."
I glanced around the room, seeing her clothes. I handed them to her and helped get all of the machines turned off so the doctors wouldn't walk in.
"Wait, how can you just leave? Won't somebody see you?"
She shook her head. "Nah, I've done it before. They can't see me if I'm in the power lines." Once she was dressed, she tried standing up. I quickly rushed over as she almost fell back. She wrapped her arms around my chest, gritting her teeth. "Never mind, I don't think I can do it. Let's just go. It doesn't matter."
I kept my arms around her as we left, and nobody seemed to care.
I found my car in the parking lot, guessing somebody took it back here.
I helped her inside, driving home. We sat in silence most of the time, until she spoke in a rough voice. "I told you ash, I've tried everything. It just doesn't work."
"We'll find something. I promise." I took her hand, pulling up to the house.
