~Korosu~

I woke up shaking, holding onto the table.
My stomach was in a knot.
I could barely breathe.

I looked down at my hands.

They weren't glitching.

They weren't ghastly pale.

And they....they weren't cold anymore.

I looked down at my legs.
Still bleeding.
But not pale.

My arms were the same.

My whole body wasn't...cold anymore.

I looked at the mirror across the room.

My eyes were hazel.
My hair was brown.

And she was behind me.

I felt her hand on my shoulder.
"There there child. It's okay. You'll be dead soon enough."

I screamed, backing away from her.

"Calm down sweetie. It's okay. You'll fix your family soon enough." She grinned, grabbing my shoulder.

I slid off the lab table, hitting the floor.

Surge ran in, wearing a worn shirt and shorts. "Korosu, what's wrong? Are you okay?"

To my surprise, Sasha was with him.

I propped myself up, leaning forward onto my arms.
"Korosu, what's wrong?" Sasha ran over, kneeling beside me.
I looked down at my hand.
It was glitching.
I sighed, quickly covering my mouth.
I felt extremely sick, looking down.
She dragged a bin over, holding back my hair.
Surge looked around, walking back over towards us.
"Korosu, what happened? Was somebody here?"

I slowly nodded.

"Who was it? What did they look like?" Sasha put her arm around my shoulder.

"It was Mary..." I was sick again, my head in the bin.

"Mary? You mean your mom? Korosu, you killed her. She couldn't have been here."

"She was here Sasha...she was here..." I leaned back into her arms.
Surge glanced down at my arm.
"My god...get back on the table. You ripped out your IV."
I looked down at the bleeding hole in my arm.
Sasha helped me up, staying beside me.
Surge took care of my arm.

"Guys, you d-don't have to d-do this. I a-apprecia-te it...but I-I'm fine..." My voice shook and broke apart.

"Korosu, you could've died that day. I had to. Your kids need their mom."
He sighed, stepping back. "Now tell me what happened a minute ago."

I looked up at Sasha.
She nodded.

"Mary was here..." I leaned back, speaking in a soft voice.
"What did she say to you?"
"I'll fix my family soon enough..." I felt tears brimming in my eyes, the thought of ash or our kids being hurt burning in my mind.
"Korosu, you won't hurt them, promise. It'll be oka-"
"Surge, what if I do?! Then what? I can't fucking die! I'll be stuck with the consequences of knowing I murdered them. They could've had a beautiful life, and I was the one who killed them! I-" I stopped mid sentence, looking down.
"I'm a monster."
Sasha looked at me, sighing.
"Yasmin, you aren't a monster. You're a person. You're amazing. Get over it."

I froze.

"What did you just call me?"
I spat.

"Yasmin Irwin, you're not a monste-"

"What. Did. You. Just. Call. Me."
I sat up, feeling my humanity slip away once again.

"Korosu?" Surge backed up.
