Anaïs packed enough clothes to last her a year. She hoped she wouldn’t be in Miami that long but knew it was better to plan for the worst than be caught unprepared. Ryder had offered to move to a hotel but she convinced him that it would be a silly thing to do; after all, her apartment would be the first place her stalker would check.

Ryder, of course, was on the phone. Occasionally he paused and looked her way with the slightest of smiles. From the bits of the conversation she heard, Anaïs surmised that he was talking to the pilot that would be taking her to Miami. Ryder frowned for a moment but immediately understanding of something dawned and he nodded. When he ended the call, his eyes fell on the three suitcases she had packed and laughed.

“Do you really need all that?” he asked.

“Honestly? No probably not, but I’m a woman. I like having lots of options and I cant

have options if I only pack a few things. Was that the pilot you were on the phone with?”

“Yeah I wanted to make sure he’ll wait with you till you meet up with Nik in Miami. And before you argue that you’re a grown woman and fully capable of taking care of yourself I’ll remind you that I love you and that you should do me this one favor so I don’t have to worry too much.”

Anaïs would have argued if she didn’t find it endearing, and exasperating, that he would

use his feelings as leverage. Instead of disagreeing she wrapped her arms around him and smiled up at him innocently.

“Oh but darling,” she sighed, “I wouldn’t have argued anyway.”

“Bullshit, you know you would have.”

“No, I’d do anything for you,” Anaïs pouted prettily, “In fact, just to prove it, I’m going to do something for you right now.”

“Yeah? And what’s that?” Ryder asked.

He watched in amazement as Anaïs lowered herself onto her knees before him and started to undue the button of his jeans. If he hadn’t lost his breath he would have told her to stop and what a shame that would have been.

Anaïs pulled his jeans down to his knees and pretended to gasp.

“Oh my,” she looked up at him in surprise, “that’s quite a condition you’re in.”

Ryder caught his breath when her hand found its way inside his boxers and groaned as she took hold of him.

“You know Ry, I’m starting to think you’ve got a little crush on me.”

“I-”

“Wait did I say little? No, definitely very big. Enormous even. I can hardly get my hand around it.”

“Anaïs-”

“Yes cherie?”
