6. Second Chances

We spent all day at the zoo, the twins had such a good time. It's awesome to see Beau and Jai bond with them.

When we finally got back to Ry's house, Beau and Jai said they had to get to a meeting but they'd be back tomorrow, so they just dropped us off.

"Mummy, can we go tomorrow?!" Destiny asked, pulling on my shirt while I carried, Daniel who was asleep, and unlocked the front door.

"We can go to the beach tomorrow. The zoo is so tiring." I replied, finally unlocking it. I went into the living-room and Ryan wasn't here, so I decided to just put Daniel in his room until he comes back. Destiny made herself at home and put on a Disney film. Her favorite one, Tangled.

We watched the movie for a little bit, until we heard the door open, and a couple of male voices enter.

"Hey loveee." Luke said, picking Destiny up and setting her on his lap, when he took her spot on the couch. "Hey Drea." he said turning and smiling at me.

Destiny fell asleep quickly. It was only 7:30 so I guess all that sun wore them out. I picked her up and took her into Ry's room, and placed her on the bed along with Daniel. I kissed them both goodnight and went back into the living-room.

"Hey. Where's Ry? I thought you both came in." I asked smiling back.

"He's in the kitchen, making us some food. Have y'all eaten yet?" Luke asks.

"They had a shit ton of junk food, so I think they're good. but I am starving. They're both asleep anyways. What's he making?" I asked.

"Mac n Cheese, and toast." He replied with a grin.

"Ew. with toast? Okkkkay.." I gave a disgusted face, and giggled.

He just looked at me, and had a faint smile. "what?" I asked.

"It's just crazy that we're sitting here together again.. I haven't seen you in over four years and it's like you never left. And the twins, they are so big. It just sucks because all of us never got to see them grow up, and be the cool uncles or anything. We weren't there to see them born or anything. I don't know what Jai was thinking that day. It hurt more than just you two you know." Luke said, with a bit of sadness in his eyes.

"I know........ and Im sorry. I shouldn't have left, I should have just gave him time. I shouldn't have left Jai... or you guys. I feel terrible, it's my fault that the twins don't know their dad. If I wouldn't have bailed, everything wouldn't be so fucked up." I was getting emotional, so I took a deep breath and fanned my eyes so the tears wouldn't come out.

"You can't blame it all on yourself.. I mean, I love Jai.. he's my twin and all, but he didn't make an effort, he could have been in their lives, but he chose not to... and, what do you mean it wouldn't be so fucked up? I thought you were doing well..." Luke asks with a worried look.

I sighed... "I have a job that I hate with a passion, twins to take care of, and a horrindous, TINY house, that I pay waaaay too much for. It feels like everything is falling apart Luke."

"Why didn't you tell Ryan any of this? He's been telling me you were doing great, from what you told him..." Luke says, with sympathy in his voice.

"Because I didn't want him to worry- wait, Ryan talked to you about me?" I asked.

"Not until, a few days ago. He invited me over to see you and the twins." he replied. "You could have reached out to us, Drea. You are family after all." Luke said squeezing my hand.

"I just figured y'all didn't want anything to do with me after I left like that. I know you can't forget what happened, or get those years back, but just please accept my apology Luke... Honestly. I am soooo sorry for causing all this shit. You guys would have been better off without me. If I never would have met Jai nothing would be this way. Everything would be good for yall." Even if I said Im sorry a hundred times, I would still feel guilt in my heart.

"It's fine, I forgive you.. It's Jai you need to apologize to." Luke said pulling me in for a hug.

"Thank you so much." I whispered.

"FOODS DONE." Ry yelled from the kitchen.

Me and Luke practically jumped off the couch and flew to the kitchen.

"Mmmm, smells good Ry." I said pulling him in for a hug. "It's gourmet." he joked.

After we finished eating, we were all just sitting on the couch, watching some weird show on TV.

"Guys, I think I'm gonna go for a walk. I'll be back in a few." I said. "Okay." they both said at the same time.

I grabbed a sweater, my silver TOMS and walked out the door. Everything looked the same, as it did 4 years ago. I was just walking, thinking about a life and all that jazz, when I found myself down a familiar street... I heard my phone buzz, so I pulled it out, it was a text from Ry, "I am going to bed, Luke's staying over. I'll be on the couch. Daniel and Des, are sound asleep so you can have my bed. Love you." I was just about to reply, when I bumped into someone.

"Oh oops, I'm so sor-... Jai?" I asked, it was kinda dark, so I couldn't tell.

"Yeah..Drea, what are you doing walking by yourself? Where are the twins. Are you okay-" I cut him off, because he was asking way too many questions.

"I'm fine, I just wanted to walk around. The twins have been asleep for about an hour. oh, by the way, they had really good time today. I was thinking about taking them to the beach, you wanna come?" I asked, my heart raced.. I still feel butterflies every time I look at him.

"That's good, I had a nice time. It was good to spend time with them... and, I'm not sure. I might have something tomorrow. but i don't know. I'll text you in the morning and let you know..."

I said, "Sure." I was about to walk off, but he stopped me "I might need your number though." he smirked, and chuckled. "Oh yeah..." I gave it to him and was fixing to leave but he stopped me again, "Wait, do you want me to walk you back. It's getting late." I was hesitant, but I agreed.

We talked quite a bit about things on the way back to Ryan's apartment, he told me how popular the Janoskians have gotten, all the tours they've done, about the fans, and such. It was nice to catch up, I didn't really tell him about all my problems. I just talked about the twins and how they were doing. I didn't want him to worry.

We finally made it back after a 20 minute walk. "Well, I'll see you at the beach tomorrow?" Jai asked.

"Oh, so you'll come? Awesome! I'll pick you up at noon." I said, grinning. "Well, I need to know where you live actually. Still with Gina?"

"Yeah, just pick me up there.." Jai said. He kissed me on the cheek, waved and walked off.

 I sure did miss this boy. Like I said though, it's my fault.... I hope I can fix this.
