I nearly fell to the ground when I read it. "No. Dally no..." I say, tears clouding my eyes. "Pony? Whats wrong?" Two-Bit asked. I handed him the note. He read it aloud. He stopped every now and then. Once he finished it went quite. "D-Dallas committed suicide?" Soda stuttered trying to process it. "How do we know he didn't just run away?" Steve says. "Yeah. How do we know? He wouldn't kill himself." Two-Bit says. "Yeah but how do we know that he won't?" Darry says.

We heard some Socs yelling and hollering as they drove past. They we're going to the lake they won from us. "Man, they always get everything. They never lose nothin' " Two-bit says, glareing out the window.

"Should we go out looking for him?" I asked, "I mean maybe. We might find him in time." Two-Bit says, we all nodded. "I'll stay here, I can't go vary far. I'll stay here just in case he comes back." I say. Darry nodded, I knew that's what he would've told me the same thing. "Should we file a missing persons report?" Soda asks. "Like the cops want to find Dally." Two-Bit says. "True but we should anyway." Soda says.

They talked over who's gonna look where and who's gonna fill out the report before they all left. Darry would go and fill it out while the others looked for him. I could only hope he didn't carry out his plan. I didn't want to lose another close friend. I couldn't. I sat on the porch and watched for anything I thought could be Dally. I came up with nothing. All I could hear were the Socs laughing and yelling as they drank booze, man I can't stand it. I mean the Socs getting everything good in life. They get all the riches and everything thing they ever wanted in life while we get everything they avoid. We get everything that makes you go cold hearted while the Socs have everything to open their heart out to everyone and anyone with out thinking twice. They get the high life, living in the fast lane. We get all the shit they've managed to avoid. Anything the Socs avoid come back around to us.

Then all their laughter soon faded into panic it seems. I paid no attention. I don't care if one of those socs are dieing right now. I headed back inside, I knew Dally wasn't gonna come home anytime soon. I sat on the couch and turned on the tv. I usually watch the news only for the stories that are actually true which is rare out here. They sometimes make up stories just for something to keep their addiance with them. I glanced out of the window when I saw cop cars zoom past my house with their sicerns blasting out. "What the hell?" I say. Maybe the Socs have done something and theyre getting arrested now. But I wonder what they did. That was until I saw the news come a 30 minutes afterwards. "Okay, now this anit about the Socs anymore." I say standing up. I crutches over to the door and looked out. I could see from here all the cop cars out there. What the hell happened? I could see Two-Bit heading over there to see what's happening and Soda and Steve went over as well. Darry on the other hand headed back to the house. "Whats going on?" I asked, "I don't know pony. Maybe Two-Bit or Soda could tells us." Just after he said that they walked in behind him. "Whats going on out there." Darry asked. "We don't know. They told us to leave. I could see them pull something out of the water though. I don't know what though." Two-Bit says. "It'll be on the news." Soda added. "But the story won't be on till in like two hours." Steve says. I sat down on the couch, turning on the tv as the other sat down. We discussed about how maybe one of the Socs found a deer or something under water until we heard a knock on the door. Soda walked over to the door, we just sat there. When Soda opened it a man in a suit held a badge up which seemed to be a police badge. He said something and Soda let him in. The man came in and looked at each of us. "Gentlemen, I'm afraid I have some bad news about your friend Dallas." He said. I looked down holding the paper in my hand. "We found his body at the bottom of the lake today. We believe it was a suicide." He says. 'He carried it out. He actually did it...' I thought as tears formed in my eyes. Two-Bit and Darry stood there in shock, Soda in denial and Steve and me blawin. "Do you have any information about him and a reason for why?" He said. I sat up straight, tear stained, and handed him the note. "Its what he left the last time we saw him alive..." I say. He opens it and reads it carefully. Once he's done he looks at us. "I'm really sorry boys." He says standing up, when he was about to walk out I spoke up. "Can I keep the note... please?" I say, the man nodded and handed it back. He gave a sliet nod and walked out. I just held the note in my weak hands as it went quite. Soon I know we are all crying, Two-Bit slammed his fist on our table in anger. "Losing two friends in a little over a month... this can't be real." He said through tears. "This is driving me insane I swear." He says walking into our backyard. "Shit. What do we do now?" Darry says trying to fight back tears. "Wake up from this goddamn nightmare." Soda says walking into his bedroom and shut the door. All I could do was hold on to the last thing Dally touched in this house.
