An eerie cry ran throughout the cell, causing my ears to ring. I slowly open my eyes and rub them adjusting them to the light. I look around the cell and notice the candles were now burn out and Beth wasn't in the cell no more. I carefully get down from my bunk and get my crutches. I looked over at the crying baby and gently pick him up rocking him slowly to try to get him to stop crying. Its weird because I swear I thought I heard Beth give Ethan to someone last night, oh well.
Soon he relaxed in my arms and looked up at me smiling.
"You must me hungry, let's go find you some food" I whispered in a cute little baby voice. I look around the room for something to help me hold Ethan because its kinda hard to walk with crutches and a baby. My eyes suddenly catch hold of a baby sling to put around my neck . I quickly grab the sling and make sure it's secure on my body and put Ethan inside. I quickly put on a hat that covers my face and put on a sweater because its starting to get really cold out. I walk slowly to the cafeteria, I think that's what they called this part? As I walked into the room all eyes landed on me, all just looked up at me and than went back to there meals. I looked at them weirdly and walked over to line up where someone was landing out food. I looked around the room and spotted Beth who was now walking up to me. The line moved up and I looked up at the lady.
" Do you know where I can get baby food for the baby?" I asked looking down at the baby and then back at the lady. She smiled.
" Yes dear" She walked behind the place and came back with a bottle, handing it to me. I thanked her and turned around to find Beth looking at me.
"Lexi why do you have Ethan" She asked looking down at the baby surprised. I shrugged and started to walk and sit down at a table.
"Ethan was crying, there was no one round so I got up and helped the poor child" I said taking Ethan out of the sling and into my arms. Beth looked
at me and smiled.
"Its just I didn't put him there Lexi, and the person who looks after the baby is very.." she was cut off by a loud gun shoot. Everyone in the cafeteria turned to see what caused the gun shoot. There stood a boy in a Sheriff hat looking fiercely around the crowd.
"Who has him" He shouted. I looked up at Beth and than down at Ethan who suddenly started crying.
I stood up carefully without my crutches.
" I do "I said looking up at the boy. I started to rock the baby and I slowly feed the hungry child. The boy looked up at me surprised, like he didn't suspect me to say anything. He walked over to me snatching Ethan from my arms.
"Why the hell do you have him" He asked .
I looked at him surprised and laughed.
"The child was crying and was probably starving I'm sorry for feeding a child that you should've been feeding" I said looking at him disgusted. The next thing took me by total surprise, I was flying across the room the wall hitting my back as I slide down the wall I felt blood poor down my nose. I take my hat off, and look up at the boy.
His eyes open in shock and he tries to run over to me but his dad stops him and all I can see is him walking out of the room. Rick runs up and picks me up taking me to a room in the prison.
The room is a light blue and there is a single bed placed in the corner of the room. Rick places me on the bed and mumbles a quick sorry before a old looking man enters the room walking over to me. He looks at me and laughs. "Looks like you've been through a lot and the days barley even started" He said handing me some tissue for my nose. I laughed and nodded.
"Your eye is definitely going to bruise and might swell but other than that you should be fine" he said looking down at something. He looked at my leg and than at me.
"What happened, and may I look at it" he asked. I nodded.
"I broke it, running from what I was told, you see I lost my memory and I don't know much" I said looking at him. He nodded and I sudden felt a slight sting. I looked down at what he was doing and notice he had already changed my bandage.
"Well dear, you should be walking in like 4 days, it's almost heeled" he said standing up. I smiled and stood up. The man left the room leaving me in silence. Its funny how you can make an bad impression of yourself without even trying. I laughed at myself.
Lets go back out there.
