THE PLANE TOUCHED DOWN AND THE GORGEOUS scenery was all around me. We quickly went through baggage claim and rushed out the large airport doors, into the warm sun. It was ten in the morning but the sun was warm enough to heat my face. Nahuel had a glow to his skin that was so beautiful, I could hardly look away.

We climbed into a small car and began to drive – I didn't know where we were going but Nahuel seemed to. Not once did he look down at his map and I was amazed and a little suspicious. Had he been to Florence before? Maybe there was more to him than what I knew.

If I was being honest with myself, I didn't know a whole lot about his past. He told me about his parents and his aunt but other than that, I knew nothing of where he came from. The thought was sad because he knew everything about my life. Although I was curious, I was still afraid to ask. So, I held my tongue.

The road was small and there was only enough room for one car but somehow we fit two. The buildings stood close together and the stone was beautiful and looked rough to the

touch. It was a creamy white stone, which was complimentary against the red brick roofs that I had seen from the plane.

A church came into view, it had a gothic structure with stunning white marble. The designs were distinct and above the large main doors was a breath taking carving. It was the cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore. I was also able to spot Bruneleschi's Dome and the sight was stunning.

Hundreds of people scrambled around the car. Hunger and thirst shot through my throat as I realized that I hadn't eaten anything since the day before. "I'm thirsty and hungry, can we eat?"

"Yeah. I was just on my way to a coffee shop."

"Oh. Perfect."

Nahuel and his thoughtfulness had been taking me off guard and I couldn't help but wonder if it was related to his outburst when he found me on the cliffs with Jacob. I wanted so badly to ask how he knew Jacob and why he hated him so much. The hatred I saw in their eyes was far more powerful than anything I had ever seen before. There was no way the girl story Nahuel had told me was the truth. There had to be more, but I couldn't ruin the day, so, I gave him the benefit of the doubt.

We parked and stepped out of the car when the roads became too full of people to move very fast. The scent of the air was delicious and I craved for whatever it was but didn't know what it was. It was a scent I smelt all the time but I couldn't remember the food that held its smell, so I learned to enjoy it, but in that moment, it was far more painful than enjoyable.

The small coffee shop was pushed back into a little corner of the town. Nahuel ordered me a chocolate mocha and a pastry and the same for himself. We sat in a small booth by the window, where the sun shined the brightest. Everything was perfect, I leaned up against Nahuel to rest my head on his chest as my eyelids slipped shut. I didn't fall asleep but I took in those few minutes of bliss. The coffee and pastry was very banal but I smiled and ate it only to fulfill my hunger.

The hotel was not too far from the coffee place. The room was enormous with two queen beds, which had comforters that were a cream vanilla with gold threading. I laid down on the bed closest to the window, it was soft and instantly molded to my body

as I laid there.

Nahuel pulled me up by my waist and kissed me with love and held no force for more. "Let's go, I want to show you something."

I smiled and followed behind him anxiously, "Okay."

We walked to the car in silence I was going crazy with curiosity and my heart was beating out of my chest. When in the car, he told me that we were going to see a special place he knew about and that is would be an hour drive. My excitement decreased, I didn't like being forced to sit for so long but I was still thrilled to see the land.
